About this listen

Scarlett....

When going to war, there are three very simple rules one must abide by.

1. Know thy enemy 2. Be prepared to sacrifice. 3. Always wear good shoes

After all, revenge is a dish best served in stilettos.

I've got an eye for it, and nothing's going to stand in my way.

Not even Rory "The Saint" Brodrick.

He's a fool if he thinks he can change me. By the time I'm through with him, I'll make his mafia look like child's play.

Cross me, Mr. Brodrick?

You better cross your heart and hope to die.

Rory....

I'm a fighter. A hustler. A mobster.

I've seen a few things in my day.

But I've never encountered anything like her.

She's a beauty with a beast of a heart. The poison apple I just can't resist. And in her trail she leaves a wake of men crawling on their knees.

What she doesn't know is that I like my women wild.

It only makes it that much more fun to tame them.

This is a dark mafia romance. A full-length standalone novel with HEA and no cheating.

4 Saint Stars

I had the pleasure of reading this series via audiobook. I am sooo glad I went that root, because the accents and the narrator Tracy does a freaking fantastic job with this whole series!

Saint was a great book I loved the connection between Rory and Scarlet. My heart when out to her the most she really was out for vengeance, and rightly so.

Rory wasn't who I was expecting he was the hard guy with this big marshmallow center; I should have figured that would be the case from the last books. But I was still surprised.

There was a lot of action in this book, like the last for sure. But I don’t know something was just missing. It focused more on Rory and Scarlett and that was kind of it. Which is good but I miss the other characters sure they pop in from time to time but it wasn't like it was in the previous books.

Ghost and Reaper are my favorites of the series but I sure am glad I listened to this one. I hope Storm gets a book, I want no that’s not right I NEED to know her story. I think she deserves a HEA.

Another hit from A. zavarelli

I loved this book! it isn't like the first 3 and it may not be everyone's favorite but these books are so good! Tracy Marks continues to bring these stories to life with her outstanding narration. I was voluntarily provided this free review copy audiobook by the author, narrator, or publisher.

Great series

I love the narratives voice. She makes it to where in my mind I feel like I am watching it all take place like a movie. I love the different voices she can portray. She brought the book to life. This book however was not as great as the others till the end.

Crazy...hot but Crazy!

I know my headline read "Crazy...hot but Crazy!" It should have also ready REVENGE! And lord don't stand in this woman's path because she will knock you down and not look back!

We met Scarlett (aka Satan) previously and I couldn't wait to read her story! She truly is one crazy badass B! There was a moment or two she edged too far, but I still was routing for her!

I don't want to give details away, and if you are familiar with the series then you know these books are gritty, raw and intense. The heat practically boils in this one with the chemistry between our Saint & Satan.

I have always posted my reviews with warnings for triggers...and this book does have flashbacks of gang-rape, along with violence & murder. Again although this is hard details to read / listen and isn't for everyone, it is key to understanding her reasons for her state of mind and one tracked mission of revenge.

Worth a credit: YES (with the above warning)

Saint & Satan

What does Tracy Marks bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

WOW Tracy you did it again, love this whole series it just keeps getting better and better.
Once again beautifully written, I really hope it continues. Good narrative brings the words to life for you and she certainly does that in spades.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yeah I nearly did, I did listen to it in one day I just wanted to know how it would end.

Saint

Would you listen to Saint again? Why?

YES!

Wonderful book from beginning till end.

Be warned, its not an easy book to read and even harder to listen to, but it grips you and makes you face the cruelty of people.

All the violence and pain (done to Scarlet or inflicted by her) makes this another excellent book by A. Zavarelli.

you cant ignore the characters, their actions, feelings etc.

scarlet is the heart of the book. What was done to her was heartbreaking but she didnt let anything or anyone bring her down.

she changed in a profound way, she became the Satan Rory dubbed her, but she extracted revenge from those who deserved it.

If you like stories that feature strong women who are not afraid to get their hands dirty, this is the book for you.

It will not be easy to read, but by the end, you will be satisfied.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Saint?

Scarlett letting Rory take final revenge for her.

Scarlett staking her claim on Rory after a fight he won.

Scarlett opening her heart to Rory and accepting him into her body.

Which character – as performed by Tracy Marks – was your favorite?

A. Zavarelli writes strong female characters and Tracy does them justice with her amazing narration.

If I have to pick one character, than it must be Scarlett!!

Scarlett might be the most kick ass heroine you read about. You will be drawn to her passion and determination to peruse justice.

Scarlet (or Satan as Saint calls her) was betrayed in her youth. She found herself in the underworld seeking revenge against the men who hurt her.
Scarlett is single minded, doesn’t like people, only sees one purpose in life and trust very few people.

One of the people is Saint (aka Rory). A fighter.

Saint sees Scarlett as the fierce person she is. He calls her Satan because she is. She isn’t evil, just relentless and vicious while extracting revenge on men who hurt women.
Be ready to be overwhelmed by Scarlett. She is wild and uncontrollable.
Saint is the one constantly perusing Scarlett. He knows they can have something unique, but convincing her is hard.

He loves Scarlett just as she is. And yes, he does admit to having feelings for her. He makes his intentions clear and doesn’t let go.

I loved seeing them together. Saint understood Scarlett and accepted her as she is.
He wanted her to be successful in her pursuit of personal justice, because he knew it was the only thing that will give her peace.

Saint is the most romantic of the Boston Underworld series and as bloody and violent.
But it does have its lighter moments, sexy times (intense in a way you aren’t prepared for) and humor.

Hell hath no fury...

Where does Saint rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Saint is the 4th book in the series and though I love these crazy mobsters I must admit that this one is not my favorite of the series but it still ranks high compared to other mobster books out there. A. Zavarelli has created a dark and dangerous world and I can't help but go back for more. She definitely is a go to author for me when I am in the mood for something a bit darker, and this book is darker in my opinion compared to the others. Scarlett has an ugly past and she only has one thing on her mind...revenge. Rory wants Scarlett despite all the lies she throws his way and I love that he does not give up despite what his friends say. There will be times your heart hurts for her and times that you want to smack her for being so cold.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Saint?

I can't pick just one moment so I'll just say when Scarlett gets her revenge!

Have you listened to any of Tracy Marks’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Tracy Mark's once again is phenomenal in narrating a dual POV book. She switches so easily between male and female voices that you forget that there is only one narrator. Her accent is also amazing and adds an element I would be missing if I only read the book.

Any additional comments?
