The real stories behind the scenery of America’s national parks. For 12 years, Andrea Lankford lived in the biggest, most impressive national parks in the world, working a job she loved. She chaperoned baby sea turtles on their journey to sea. She pursued bad guys on her galloping patrol horse. She jumped into rescue helicopters bound for the heart of the Grand Canyon. She won arguments with bears. She slept with a few too many rattlesnakes. Hell yeah, it was the best job in the world! Fortunately, Andrea survived it.

The “mountain men” were the hunters and trappers who fiercely strode the Rocky Mountains in the early to mid-1800s. They braved the elements in search of the skins of beavers and other wild animals, to sell or barter for goods. The lifestyle of the mountain men could be harsh, existing as they did among animals, and spending most of their days and nights living and camping out in the great unexplored wilds of the Rockies.

MacLeod and her husband, George, encountered their dream while vacationing on a remote island in the Scottish Hebrides. Enthralled by its windswept beauty, they soon were the proud and startled owners of a near-derelict croft house - a farmer’s stone cottage - on “a small acre” of land. For 30 years, drummer, author, and songwriter Neil Peart had wanted to write a book about "the biggest journey of all in my restless existence: the life of a touring musician." Finally, the right time, and the right tour. In the summer of 2004, after three decades, 20 gold albums, and thousands of performances, the band Rush embarked on a 30th Anniversary World Tour. The "R30" tour traveled to nine countries, where the band performed 57 shows for more than half a million fans. Uniquely, Peart chose to do his between-show traveling by motorcycle, riding 21,000 miles of back roads.

The emotional associations and stories behind each album Peart plays guide his recollections of his childhood on Lake Ontario, the first bands that he performed with, and his travels with the band Rush. The evocative and resonant writing vividly captures the meanderings of a musical mind.

Amazing guide.
Listening to this audiobook really helped me plan our trip with friends. Last year, I was there but couldn't explore much due to my limited knowledge of the area. The author's suggestions about Santa Fe are incredibly helpful for people who love to explore the world, additionally the author's good style and the narrator's appealing voice made the experience even better. It's a five-star book, highly recommended!

Perfect Companion for Exploring Santa Fe
I gave this a listen before a recent trip, and I’m glad I did. It’s packed with practical tips that helped me get a better feel for the city—where to eat, what to see, and what to skip. Felt more like advice from a local than a generic guide. Definitely made navigating Santa Fe more fun and less stressful. Great to have in your pocket before visiting.

Everything Wonderful Santa Fe
This book was amazing. If you close your eyes while listening you almost feel the adobe surrounds and smell the roasted chilies cooking. The author packs a wealth of information about Santa Fe in this book. From weather in the different seasons, dining, lodging, all the cultural events, and the many attractions. Warning, this book will instill a love for Santa Fe and create an urge to plan your next vacation to Santa Fe, New Mexico.

Informative Travel Guide
Perspective:
There's a lot of interesting information that are helpful to anyone traveling to Santa Fe or hoped to travel to the country. The books was nicely put together and a great asset to have while planning for your trip. The ebook copy is a good read for any book lover - totally recommend.
I'm reviewing the Audible copy, this copy started of good then towards the middle began echoing loud to soft then loud and back to soft. Too annoying. It tends to lose you and make you lose interest quickly. I don't recommend the audio.
Takeaway:
This is a great read for anyone planning to visit Santa Fe. Knowing what to expect and what to look forward to is quite fun. Santea Fe is a great place to visit for its arts and culture.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
