Cody couldn't be more opposite from Natalie.

When Natalie arrives in Belle Fourche with her ailing father and three wayward brothers, she’s forced to throw herself upon the mercy of her only remaining family - the Olesons - at the Broken Circle O. While her father rests, Natalie is excited to meet an ornery man with deep, gray eyes, and a missing leg. She’s certain that if he’ll agree to let her father fashion a prosthetic limb for him, the familiar work will help her father recuperate. But getting Cody Hammond to agree to anything proves more difficult than she first imagined. Will she be able to win him over before it’s too late for her father?

A chip on his shoulder isn't easy to bear.

Cody Hammond lives a quiet, ordered life, until one day an unfamiliar woman rushes into the bank where he works and threatens to disrupt everything. The more Natalie pushes her way into Cody's life, the more she makes him think about a past he’s worked hard to forget. He's determined to keep her away, but even his best isn't enough to scare off the enigmatic and beautiful Natalie.

Run to Me

I’ve enjoyed Cody and Natalie’s story…the story of past hurts and forgiveness, love and grace. I am so intrigued by the characters for the next books in the series :)

Sweet Historical Romance

Saved By Grace is a sweet historical romance in the Brothers of Belle Fourche series by Kari Trumbo. Having listened to the other books in the collection I was anxious for this fourth one and was not disappointed. The author has captured well the era of the setting (1900, South Dakota) and the emotions and actions of her characters. They are realistic and relatable and I was drawn quickly into their story and enjoyed watching the romance between Natalie and Cody develop. Natalie, a determined and caring young woman and Cody, a banker who definitely has some bitterness and frustrations with things in his past that effect his present. Will they be able to move through their struggles to have a future together? It was interesting to read about the use of prosthetics during this period of history. Although fourth in the series, it is easily a stand-alone story but I'd recommend reading the first three books as well. It is interesting to see the characters from the previous books and what has been happening with them. Readers of historical romance books will not want to miss this one. I listened to a complimentary copy of the audiobook and was not required to write a review and the opinions are my own. The narrator, J. Scott Bennett, did a great job telling Natalie and Cody's story which made for an enjoyable listening experience. I am so glad there are more books in this series as I look forward to reading more about the brothers of Belle Fourche and the women they come to love.

Beautiful story

A story full of grace, forgiveness, realizations, loss and love. A beautiful storyline and so well told. I hope to read more from this family with her brothers’ adventures.

I received this audiobook from the author and have given my honest review.

Good book, good series.

Saved By Grace by Kari Trumbo
Book 4, Brothers of Belle Fourche

Cody Hammond has lost part of his leg. He has overcome a lot of adversity to arrive in Belle Fourche from England. He finds a position in the bank, and basically lives a solitary life.

Natalie Oleson, her ill father, and her troublesome adult, but younger brothers wind up at their cousin’s ranch after her father turns ill. They have been traveling the country making hand carved prosthesis.

Cody needs a prosthesis but refuses the help of Natalie. Natalie feels that her father needs to make Cody a prosthesis to give him a new zest for life.

I received this audiobook free with no requirement of review. I am reviewing this book of my own accord and am giving my honest opinion.

Captivating And Unique

This fourth story in the Brothers Of Belle Fourche Series was captivating and unique. Cody Hammond, Eli Oleson’s brother-in-law, is a surly, gruff man who doesn’t seem to like anyone, including his own sister. He has had a tough past and has a lot of baggage to sort through, not the least of which is only having one leg. Natalie has just arrived in town with her sick father and unruly brothers looking for the Oleson ranch. When she walks up to him in the bank and speaks to him, ignoring all the other tellers, he is taken aback and intrigued. My heart went out to Cody, even through his gruffness. Natalie also had my heart right from the beginning, she was such a sweet and caring soul, even though she’d been through such tough times. This was a heartwarming and sometimes heart wrenching story and another enjoyable one to listen to. Kari Trumbo has a distinctive writing style that draws you into her stories and makes you feel as though you are living with her characters. J. Scott Bennett never ceases to amaze with his wonderful narration. I received a free copy of this audiobook and have voluntarily provided an unbiased review.

A wonderful story of redemption and love

Cody Hammond came to America to try and coerce his sister, Anne, into returning to London. But Anne had found a life and love in Belle Fourche, leaving Cody to decide his future alone.

The Oleson Family has grown by leaps and bounds, when long lost cousins come to the ranch. The lovely Natalie Oleson steps into Cody's life by offering to create a prosthesis for his missing leg, Cody has to finally decide if he is going to take a chance at life or stay the miserable curmudgeon he has become.

This is the 4th book in this series and Mr. Bennett continues to breathe life into Miss Trumbo's beautiful stories!

Delightful

Saved by Grace by Kari Trumbo
Narrated by J. Scott Bennett

5 stars

I loved this unique story about the family making limbs for the soldiers who lost them during the war.  This is an amazing example of kindness winning.  It's just like the Bible states, "...the kindness of God leads you to repentance".  Kari truly has a gift for putting hard to love characters in a situation that softens them and soft characters become harder (stronger) because of working with that other person.

It was wonderful for the same narrator to continue this series!

Saved by Grace

Saved by Grace by Kari Trumbo was a very fast paced book I enjoyed it as the subject matter was not a commonly talked about in the 1880s. How Natalie was able to help Cody was great. A sweet love story. Narrative was great

Good Historical Plot

Good clean historical plot, with Cody and Natalie , learning to heal the past, and to trust in themselves and others. She is a delight to read she is feisty and determined to succeed in what she wants. Why him, he is grumpy with a big chip on his shoulder. Also given audio which had good narration for my voluntary review and my honest opinion

The Whole Man

Each book is written as a standalone, but the cross-references to the shared universe and characters, while explained within, mean you'll enjoy each the more for having read its predecessor. This tale focuses on Ann's brother Cody, he of the missing limb, and some hitherto unknown cousins of the Olsons. Post Civil War advances in replacement limb technology were necessitated by the number of men who'd survived their wounds because amputation had halted gangrene. But could a false leg do more than fill Cody's empty pants leg? The female Olson cousin wants to help by making him that prosthesis. I especially liked the introduction of technical advancements as a key to unlocking the character of painfully shy Natalie. As always, narrator J. Scott Bennett's interpretations added to my enjoyment of the story.
