When Jillian Farmer meets Carly Foreman in the pediatrician's office, she has no idea how her life is about to be forever changed. After tragedy strikes, Jillian feels led to help a motherless child, but not everyone appreciates her help, and Jillian is soon put in the middle of a family feud. Jillian only wants what's best for Ben, the child she quickly grows to love as her own. But will she make an objective decision, or will her own feelings get in the way of doing what is right?

Benjamin Forman is little "Ben's" father who is serving over seas in the military. He comes home to mourn for his wife and finds that maybe he just may not be needed with stranger woman who is loving on his son and his in-laws who are hostile to him and his marriage to his late wife.
Together these two need to do what is best for little Ben and through this goal find that only love, acceptance, forgiveness, and persistence can allow for healing and faith.
The story was good, but it struck me as very strange that romantic feelings came so easy and strong for both characters since they had both just lost the "loves of their lives" and it made the story a bit unrealistic for me. Taking that part away, the general story was very well written and the characters were believable and you could feel the pain and sorrow, hope and joy "ride" Cynthia Willow takes the reader on.
Sometimes love is the only thing that heals

Jillian Farmer was in the "right place at the right time". She witnesses a tragic accident that leaves a newborn in need of immediate help. Jillians own experiences put her in a unique position to be able to help a family in desperate need, but do they want it.
Saving Private Benjamin is a very well written story by Cynthia P. Willow and narrated by Patte Shaughnessy.
