Publisher's summary
Send your child to college, regardless of what your paycheck says.
Surveys have consistently found that saving for a child’s college education is the top money concern for parents in the US, with over 70 percent saying they’re worried about being able to pay for their child’s education.
Tuition fees are rising year after year, and for many parents, this makes the prospect even more daunting.
So, should you just give up and invest in your child’s present, rather than their future?
The short answer is no - there’s really no need.
Saving for your child’s college education is a process that’s distinctly different from saving for any other purpose, and it’s never too early to start.
Begin now, whether your child is a teen, an infant, or hasn’t even been born yet, and you can ensure that they have access to the education you want for them.
Research has shown that college graduates begin their working life earning 80 percent more than those with only a high school diploma. If you want this for your child, it’s natural to be concerned about how you can help them get there.
But there’s good news: You can do this easily. It’s simply a case of knowing where to start, understanding how to plan, and being equipped to navigate a financial system that seems hell-bent on getting in your way.
In Saving for College, you’ll be given a straightforward breakdown of exactly what you need to do to ensure your child gets the education they deserve. You’ll discover:
- Practical saving tips that anyone can implement now, even if you haven’t opened a savings account for your child yet
- Financial management tricks to help you get ahead of the system
- Ways exactly how you can plan and maximize your savings by the time your child is off to college
- The number one mistake parents make when saving for their child’s future, and how you can avoid it
- How (and when) to use financial aid wisely so that you won’t have debt hanging over your head for the next 15+ years

Beyond helpful!
I'm not exactly the best at saving money nor have I ever been.. I am very excited to try some of these methods since I have a 4 year old and a 2 year old. This is the perfect time to start, considering how expensive collage is or can be.. I have always felt so overwhelmed at the idea of trying to save for my kids future let alone saving for my own future, but this book gives so many examples to make it super relatable and so many ideas for solutions that I feel that as long as you take the authors advice and actually try, it's almost impossible for you to fail! I highly recommend this!!

Add this book to your Library
If you think you can’t afford to send your children to college, well, you need to listen to Orson's book. This book will give you a plan to save and get your child the education needed. This book will take away the fear of lack of money and prepare your child for college starting in High School. I love how this book gives advice for when unexpected life situations happen. This book needs to be in your book library.

College is expensive but this can help
College tuition is expensive, and parents often have a big problem with that.
This book is set up to help parents to encourage their children and put them through college somewhat regardless of the price.
Author Orson Vaughn takes us through a process of putting together a college fund for your children and empowers their lives.
I've listened to a number of this type of book, but I can definitely say that there are unique aspects to this one, not found elsewhere.
Finances are always going to be a problem, but that doesn’t mean that we have to be trapped by it.
Overall, a whorthwhile listen that's narrated well.

Common Sense Isn't So Common
This is a great book that provides a simple and direct plan for parents to start saving for college.
The narrative and psychology of the author is long-term in nature.
This makes practical sense because one cannot build a savings fund for college overnight.
There is a lot of wisdom, practical sense, patience and long-term psychology that the author brings.
The author speaks from personal experience of funding his own child's education, so you know the information is tested and legitimate. The advice consists of practical day-to-day disciplines that add up over time.
The funny thing is, there isn't any one thing that the author says that is rocket science.
It's practical common sense applied to a long-term vision: building a savings fund for college.
However, it's incredible how many, including myself, don't do their homework on saving for college, much less apply it.
Get the book, if you want a great start to college savings.
