Such a great book!

I have been following Dana's blog (and particularly podcasts) for a few years, and I listen while I try to clean... this made the book an essential buy for me. Dana is just like me, and is hilarious, and makes me feel like I'm not alone. This stuff doesn't come naturally to everyone. I finally have hope though - and I am seeing little successes. I'd highly recommend this book to anyone who feels overwhelmed by their home. I'm starting to actually enjoy mine, now that it is becoming more manageable through simple tasks like doing the dishes. Looking forward to the next book :)

Must Read for Would-Be Homemakers

Awesome! This is the BEST information on keeping a home that I've ever read! It is pratical, informative, relatable, and funny all at the same time. I finally feel like I have a roadmap for daily success at home and I have already seen results. I am truly glad to have found a kindred spirit who decided to share her experience and strategies for success. Two thumbs up!!

Aweseome! practical habit training everyday tips

Would you consider the audio edition of How to Manage Your Home Without Losing Your Mind to be better than the print version?

Did not get the print version

What was one of the most memorable moments of How to Manage Your Home Without Losing Your Mind?

DO THE DISHES EVERYDAY!! A habit that changed our household. Seriously I have read so many organization books but Dana made me make changes. She is an amazing narrator ( so glad she did herself) and her habit forming tips truly work. Fellow Slob who has two little kids, full time job and handling home chores as well.

Any additional comments?

Exelent! perfect for people with ADHD

I am a tired mom with ADHD, and I have read and tried A LOT of different methods of organizing, arranging and maintaining the house in a livable state. This book is, without a doubt, is the best book I have read on the subject.
I don't know if it is on purpose, but this book is perfect for people with ADHD, everything works out just right, its very simple and easy to understand, and actualy worked for me! Dana is funny and witty and makes it light and fun, and I hate everything related to housekeeping ...In short, a great book! A must for anyone who has tried a million complex methods and failed, highly recommend it!

Realistic Approach for Human Disasters

Reading this book felt like Dana was speaking directly to my brain. How to actually start, how to avoid procrastinating, how to create routines of doing chores you hate. I struggle with depression, and this book really helped me bring my home under control when even moving clothes to the dryer feels overwhelming.

Dana K. White brings me joy

No disrespect for Marie Kondo, but I just can’t relate to her cleaning process. I do, however, relate strongly to Dana K. White’s deslobification suggestions, especially her focus on working within your “containers.” If you are reluctant to thank your old underwear for their service before tossing them, give Dana’s books a try.

Inspiring and entertaining

This book is not for someone who is already reasonably organized and simply looking for new ideas (as the author states at the beginning of the book). This book is for people who simply do not know where to begin and/or are overwhelmed by the condition of their home.
It is an inspiring guide to help move beyond "decluttering paralysis" and start seeing lasting results. (The author refers to it as
"De-Slobification"). If you are looking for a book to give you very specific organizational, this book does not generally provide that kind of information. It more importantly provides guidance on how to develop new habits and mindsets on maintaining a cleaner and more clutter-free home, while still being realistic about having days where things might slide back to a more disorganized state yet being better able to bring things back to a more orderly condition after having learned new habits and strategies. The author is very upfront from the beginning about the type of people for whom this book will be most relevant and beneficial. This book is for those who feel in great disarray and can benefit from starting with the most basic tasks to bring change (eventually expanding to the larger "projects" after the new habits are formed).
Definitely recommend!

A Clutter Clearing Guide that is doable

If you’re a person who has struggled with clearing the clutter from your home this book is for you! I’ve tried so many things to “get organized” and never seem to be able to keep them going. Dana shares her journey and her methods are absolutely doable and make such common sense that I’ve been able to make visible progress in my home!

JUST what I needed!

Dana's personality and common sense approach made this a truly enjoyable listen. Not only did her own experiences and circumstances hit home, her conversationalist method motivated and inspired. HIGHLY recommend for anyone needing a place to start and HOPE.
