About this listen

The greatest discovery of the 20th century. Kept secret. Until now.

Berlin, 2015 - a well-connected SS commander is found dead, having protected the last secret of the Nazi empire for 70 years. A discovery by Nazi scientists so potent it could change the balance of world power - forever.

Led by misfit military historian Myles Munro, an international team begin to piece together the complex puzzle left by SS Captain Werner Stolz. As their hunt across Europe gathers pace, the brutal killing of one of the group signals that they are not the only ones chasing the answer. Plunged into a world of international espionage, Myles has only his intellect and instincts to keep him alive.

As the team edge closer to an explosive truth, it becomes clear to him that there is a traitor amongst them. Who can Myles trust? And can he unravel the clues of the past in time to save the future?

The best recommendation I have for this book is that I am telling everyone I meet to read it!

Mr. King mixes Nazi History and the "science" of astrology to carry the reader on a whirlwind ride of the tale of how the two intertwine. You get to tag along with Miles as he confronts the Elements and his fate as written in the stars. Just when you think he and his fellow investigators will break the secrets of a former Nazi's predictions, the rug is pulled from under them and they are off following another lead.

The person who narrates this book is the best I have ever heard! His ability to switch between British, American, French, Russian, and German dialects is genius and help to bring the characters to life. His pace moves the story along and pulls you in.

The story drags a bit at the end, but overall it was a book I couldn't wait to find out what happened next. I look forward to Miles' next adventure!

Nazi History and Astrology mixed together for a thrilling tale.

I enjoyed the mix of history with fiction. The reader did a great job with accents for different characters. Highly recommend. :)

Really entertaining

An American, Russian, Frenchman and Brit walk into a room... This one quickly climed the ladder to my favs. It was fantastic and very well done all around. I found myself liking all the characters, even the one I was suppose to hate. What I thought I knew, I didn't. What I knew was going to happen didn't. This is one heck of a ride and you will definitely have to hold on. The narration was fantastic as well. The characters tones and accents were genuine. His pacing and tone was right on the mark. The vivid descriptions of the European landscapes and post-war monuments were so good I could picture myself standing right there. I couldn't put this one down. Awesome job all around.

Men are from Mars, Nazis are from Venus?

I love to read WWII stories and found this one to be a great audiobook. Being a truck driver, I have plenty of time to listen. Very entertaining book and very well narrated, with history and a interesting idea of being able to predict the future . Well done.

Number1icemaster always interested in WWII

Would you listen to Secrets of the Last Nazi again? Why?

I would listen to a follow-up book anytime, but I never listen to the same book twice.

What other book might you compare Secrets of the Last Nazi to and why?

I would say that it is similar to books from Dan Brown, as you think you know what is coming...but you do. Also another book I like is The Last Templar. It is similar in a sense that it works with the past and the present in a nice and exciting way.

Have you listened to any of Laurence Kennedy’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

No I haven't. The quality of his comments speech was really nice. He tried to put life and also the appropriate accent we're required.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I don't know if it is extreme, but I couldn't get in my car without listening to what was coming next in this book.

Any additional comments?

I must say, that I am really waiting for the next book to come out. I'll be looking forward to spending more time in my car.

My best book of the year

An extremely interesting plot premise, but very weak execution, one-dimensional characters and plot as if from a badly written simplistic children's book totally ruins it. I went through about 65-70% of the book before quitting.

Could have been great...
