About this listen

Witch Cerise Bishop doesn’t have time - or patience - for love. But when she’s saved by a hot alpha wolf, things change. When Axel barges into her home to warn her that she’s on a group of witch hunters’ kill list, she doesn’t believe him. Forget how sexy he looks or how much she’d like to see him naked, she doesn’t need a savior.

Alpha wolf Axel Barrick wanted to crawl home to bed after a series of night shifts, not take a witch to a safehouse. But his sense of justice rules him and he goes to fetch Cerise. He’s intent on saving her by bringing her to the pack lands. Too bad she’s the most hardheaded, beautiful, and frustrating woman he’s ever met - and who happens to be his mate.

On Axel’s beautiful pack lands, Cerise has to face her past and learn to communicate with Axel. That doesn’t mean fall into bed after every argument. Sex is easy. Love, now that’s another story. But when Cerise is taken, all bets are off. Will Cerise’s determination to save herself actually get her killed?

I don’t mean to be mean but book 2 is so much like book 1 I hope books three is different.

This story sounds a lot like book one

I'm a huge paranormal book fan and love this kind of series. HOWEVER, this series has officially turned me off - hopefully, not permanently.

**spoiler alert - there is no spoiler.
The 2nd book is, like the other reviewers said, almost the same as the 1st.
Whining Witches who won't suspend their cynicism about men in order to save their own lives. Verbally abusive to the men and just plain rude! "Play doctor"??? She's so mean. Axel IS a doctor.
The men were only slightly better. I appreciated that they were trying to be heroic, but there had to be a better way than to walk up to the person and say, "I'm here to save your life." That's so arrogant. What kind of Alpha and Beta are they? Call out the whole dang pack! Take a stand and stomp the bad guys into the ground. Then again, if they were to do that, these books wouldn't have a story.

Please think through things a bit more before writing like this again. Flesh out each character and their personalities. Repeating yourself after changing the character's name and just a bit of their backstory isn't enough. I'd hate for more paranormal fiction series to go by the way of oversexed, arrogant, and emotionally stunted characters.

Allow me a few more points: If I hear about the women's "globes" one more time, I'm going to puke. Very colorful curses; totally NOT necessary. And Why the F÷×@ are they worried about earning money and whether they have clothes to wear when they are about to die???

I wanted to finish the book, but I can't stand the emotional abuse from all sides, violence for violence's sake, and lack of creative thought.

I don't like leaving reviews like this, so I'll end with a nice note: I actually did like the narrators. Some people complained, but I feel they were just doing the best they could with what they were given. I really like the make narrator's deep voice. It's a perfect fit for a werewolf.

I really wanted to like it.

Boring, annoying and same as 1st book. Dumb and annoyingly bitchy women - rather than independent strong-willed. Stupid, cavemen type men - completely untouched by modern social interaction.

Same

OMG if i have to hear the male narrator swollow, wet his lips, whatever else it is he keeps doing with his mouth directly into his mic, after nearly every sentence, anymore i might actually throw up! im an hour inyo tge book and its just annoying! also if you read/listened to the first book then you pretty much know this book. she also has ex boyfriend issues, and blah blah. she may be a little less annoying then Raven. Maybe!
update- finished it and the book is good. she is much less annoying then Raven. the narrators wet mouth noises still make me sick though.

the mouth noises are making me sick!

Engaging and exciting series. The storylines segway into one another in a way that makes it necessary to go on to the next book.

Captivating

I listened to the first book along with this one. this set of twins Raven and cerise. frustrating AF things in both of the books that made them dumb. not knowing the extent of their magic... Knowing that their magic fizzles out really quick but thinking they can take on bad guys. dumb dumb dumb.. I wish authors would quit making women pretend to be independent but completely naive about the real world. I just don't understand how these two don't understand logic. hopefully the second set of twins are smarter. fingers crossed... undecided if I want to listen to the next two.

dumb women

Just listen to the 1st book in the series twice and change the characters names. Couldn’t finish, even some of the lines were exactly the same. The women leads were rude and threw tantrums in both books, hard to listen to these embarrassing women.

Just listen to the 1st book in the series twice.
