About this listen

A corpse hanging over the crops. A team falling ill. Can he find a killer before someone decides murder is contagious?

DCI Harry Grimm hates getting sick. Fighting a terrible cold, the under-the-weather detective is already pushing his limits by going house hunting with his girlfriend. So, when he’s called out to investigate a body gruesomely displayed in a field as a scarecrow, he can’t see how his day can get any worse. That is, until another body turns up.

With the rest of his colleagues succumbing to sickness and one member of the team soon to leave for good, the ill inspector realises it’ll take more than a little rest and a hot toddy to get back on track and stop this countryside killer.

Can he keep a clear head and catch a murderer intent on writing their motive in blood?

See No Evil is the stunning seventeenth book in the DCI Harry Grimm Crime Thrillers series. If you like characters that feel like old friends, interwoven plots, and solid mysteries, then you’ll love David J. Gatward’s countryside conundrum.

I loved this book. Hopefully I wasn't too much of a sight as I was sobbing while driving down the road at the end

great and touching story

Story was a different pace, which made it more interesting. The narrator was over the top excellent, especially in the last of the novel! The ability to to bring the author’s words into a full 360, 3d experience was awesome!

I can’t decide which was better, the story line or the narration!

Life in the Dales goes on. And, so does Aubrey Parsons. A formidable combination. Thank you for Harry and the team. It is so refreshing to have a good story told so well and to not have to suffer through the internal police discord that so often inhabits a police procedural.

Harry Grimm and team never let me down! It was a gripping mystery. There was suspense, intrigue and humor. Any author that can pull off all three is my kind of author. And that ending! And great job to Aubrey Parsons for the excellent reading.

Great Story!

I’ve listened to all the Harry Grimm books. See No Evil was my very favorite. I’ve fallen in love with all the characters. I can “see” them in the words Gatward has painted. Thank you.

Mr. Gatward, The ending. You had me in tears. Your story is one of the few that have made me do so.

The ending.

DCI Harry Grimm and his team in the Dales continue to grow closer together while solving horrific cases. Mr. Gatward creates a story and Mr. King brings the characters to life. I look forward to every new case!

Well Done!

I have listened to all 17 volumes of "Grimm Up North," and I love this series. I love the cake and the tea and the murder and the scenery and the professionalism and the family. I had listened to two WWII Nazi atrocities books in a row (The Nightengale, Kristin Hannah and We Must Not Think of Ourselves, Lauren Grodstein) and I REALLY needed something "lighter." Number 17 Grimm hit the spot. I only wish it were longer. But it's good and I expect you will enjoy it, also. Narrator Aubrey Parsons is pitch-perfect. I have been astonished since the beginning book that David Gatward needed something to do in the pandemic and started churning out novels. You might think that 17 novels in just a few years would mean they're slipshod; but they're delicious! Enjoy!

Another delightful Grimm!
