Publisher's summary

So much of our faith is lived out in our heads. We study the Bible, sit through sermons, pray with our eyes closed. All of these are good things. There is a world around us, however, that is crammed with heaven if we have eyes to see it and ears to hear it and hands to touch it. The goodness of God is waiting for us to taste and see. The aroma of Christ surrounds us. In Sensing God, musician and theologian Joel Clarkson points us to a life of faith that is enchanted by the glory of divine craftsmanship, inviting us to practice a faith that is true, good, pure, and altogether lovely.

Wonderful message

Having read books by every member of the author’s family, I was wondering how the book would be. I am very pleased that I did read the book. The writing enveloped you, helping you understand the points Mr Clarkson was making. And those points, well, they were wonderful. It is refreshing to see our path on Earth with new eyes. So often I can get in a routine with my walk, it is imperative to remember who I am worshipping. These chapters help bring God to mind, no matter what we are doing. We can learn to worship Him in everything and in every way. In a world of chaos, how amazing is it to know that we can rest knowing that God is good and He is inviting us into His be with Him.

My only issue with the reading, though great, seemed like Mr Clarkson was in a rush. At times he seems out of breath and other times the sentences feel like he trying to hurry. I love the fact that we can hear his words in his voice, but, for me, it lacks a little passion that I felt when reading it on my own.

Not for me

Used scripture out of context and sporadically. Didn't have a good rhythm and had poor theology.
