Publisher's summary

From New York Times best-selling author, Sawyer Bennett, comes a sexy new standalone romance...

When you're a rock god, fame and fortune are your two best friends, but they can be fickle bitches. Everyone wants a piece of me and I have no clue how to deal with it all. I'm being sued, pressured to sign contracts, and fending off rabid women who want to steal my virtue.

Well, not that I really have any virtue, but still...my life has turned completely bat-shit crazy.

That's why I need Emma Peterson. She got me out of a bit of a jam once, and I know she can do it again. The only problem is that sweet, prim, and totally straight-laced Emma doesn't want anything to do with me. Not professionally, and certainly not personally.

It's not that I want her in that way. Let's be realistic...it would take a crow bar of epic proportions to get her to spread those legs for me.

No, I only want her legal expertise and for her to make sense of my crazy world. It's a good thing I have just the leverage to make her do my bidding, because her refusal is not an option.

Sexy Lies and Rock & Roll is a hot, romantic comedy standalone.

On The Road to Maturity

Evan and Emma are so cute together even if they are both young adults trying to make their paths in life. Evan is at a crossroads with his career and is looking for guidance in making the right decision. He doesn't always trust the people around him to have his best interest at heart. Emma is just starting her career as an attorney but isn't satisfied with her current path. Evan enters Emma's life and shakes up everything she thought she wanted and completely changed her perspective. But isn't that typical of what young people do because they have a certain amount of freedom that we lose as we get older and have more commitments? When life isn't as they expect it to be, they just change course. And Evan and Emma must find a course that they both can live with. Sawyer Bennett, one of my favorite authors, did an amazing job bringing these two people whose stories are relatively uninteresting and making a hot and sexy love story worth listening too. Evan helped Emma to loosen up and let her young side out and Emma had a stabilizing effect on Evan -- a perfect match.

Joe and Maxine are amazing as the narrators. The only thing that would have made this a better listen would have been a duet style narration. But this is the next best thing. These two always perform well together.

Definitely worth the credit.

Surprised me!

I wasn't sure what to expect with this audiobook, but I was really sur at what a entertaining storyline it had. The characters were well written and their journey to love was one I enjoyed. The narration was superb with two of my favorite narrators.

OMG Fabulous Listen

Where does Sexy Lies and Rock & Roll rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

This is one of the best books I have listened to in a long while.

Who was your favorite character and why?

I love both Emma and Ethan. I loved to see the transformation of Emma from an unsure, insecure new lawyer to someone with tenacity and poise. I also loved the transformation from one night stand cocky rock star to Ethan being true to himself, loving only one woman and being willing to finally fight for her.

What does Joe Arden and Maxine Mitchell bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Joe Arden and Maxine Mitchell are go to narrators for me. I often buy an audiobook based only on the fact that they are the narrators. They deliver the true heart and soul of each book they narrate.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Yes, Tyler's behavior made me extremely mad for all that he was willing to do which ended up hurting Ethan and sad for Ethan who ultimately lost who he thought was his best friend. I was so glad that he was left at a rest area.

Any additional comments?

This is definitely worth the credit I spent on it.

A light & sexy road trip listen!

The indie r&r singer is in need of an attorney. The attorney he has been assigned is the total opposite of him. This is a sexy light listen compared to the Wicked Horse steamy series. It was good until 3/4 of the book then the stubbornness came into play. Once that was settled, there was a HEA. I always enjoy SB books. Joe Arden & Maxine Mitchell are fantastic as usual. It was worth my credit as I needed a light sexy listen for my road trip.

Decent

Love books about bands and the band members aloof ways. This book was pretty good. The narrators did a good job. As others have pointed out, it was predictable. Will continue listening to series.

Ken and Barbie

Considering that SB is an incredibly gifted author, it's so disappointing when she creates "Ken and Barbie" rather than relatable or admirable main characters. Hopefully one day she will write for an older, more mature audience.

While I wanted to like Emma (25), I really wanted Emma to like and respect herself. She was smart, funny and caring, yet she needed Evan's approval to feel attractive or important. Emma allowed Evan to push her into dressing and acting like a porn star instead of being true to herself.

Evan (26) was also an uneven, confusing personality; he claimed to care about Emma, then insisted that she change everything that made her unique and interesting. If Evan was actually attracted to the real Emma, why constantly push her to be different (cheap, brainless bimbo).

Although Evan didn't seem like the typical selfish rock star, he wanted Emma to serve all his needs (sexual and emotional) without ever considering or asking what she needed. Evan wasn't intentionally cruel, but casually assumed his desires and needs were the priority.

Since Emma accepted Evan just the way he was, it was sad and depressing that Evan couldn't do the same. I lost interest when I realized that I didn't care what happened to anyone, except for the dog and the bus driver.

Rating: young adult, graphic sex, juvenile emotional maturity, chauvinistic attitudes

Predictable and lightweight but hot Rock Star & Lawyer romance

Sexy story about an up and coming rock star and a shy young lawyer. Includes a villainous agent “friend” and a predictable plot. What makes this a bit unique is both are annoyingly naive and young. Evan the rock star Is definitely more sexually experienced but both he and his lawyer Emma are basically down to earth and kind people. It is also refreshing that the story is not filled with drugs and alcohol- just an occasional scene.
