A Slow Burn Romance & Cliffhanger

This is a wonderful slow burning romance about two broken souls trying to live their lives after tragedy. Ann Omasta writes her characters with heart and very real emotions. There's romance, steam, humor and heartbreak. I really didn't care for how the town inhabitants were so judgmental but that's generally the way it goes. It seems when tragedy strikes the community either bands together to support each other or they turn their backs and judge everything. Ann Omasta wove her words to pull the listener/reader into the story with ease and heart. I also enjoyed her narration. As with her other book she narrated, my only complaint is that she needs to work on her male voices. She does a good job with everything else. I really enjoyed listening to this story and am looking forward to hearing book two...need to know what else happens. :)

Very good except for the cliffhanger

This author is new to me and I was curious about this audiobook.
The story centers around Alex Briggs, his daughter Hannah and Josie Michaels.
Alex’s wife Claire, has disappeared and the townspeople belief he’s responsible and have ostracized him.
Josie, was an Olympic contender until an injury derails her. By chance, she ends up being a nanny for Hannah. This starts a tentative friendship and maybe more between this new unit.
This is a touching story but I have to confess, I was not happy with the cliffhanger, something I avoid when I purchase books and /or audios. Because of that , the rating was not higher.

beautiful love story

This book started out with Alex being a villain in the eyes of the community due to the disappearance of his wife. The local diner's owner played matchmaker offering her niece Josie as a nanny/babysitter to Alex, hoping they would fall in love.
They dance around their feelings until late in the book, but the precious daughter helps both of them. The surprise ending has me wanting more to see what happens next.
Loved this book and highly recommend it for your listening enjoyment.

Is he a murderer?

This audible was so good! I enjoyed the storyline and the characters and the narrator! I normally am not a fan of one narrator doing all of the characters but Ann Omasta did a fantastic job! I cannot wait to read/listen to Shining Pearls next!

Loved it

There were a couple areas where there was to much explaining done. Other than that the story is really good, I couldn't stop listening.

Normally I avoid stories where the author narrates their own books, but Ann Omasta does a really good job. Can't wait for the next book in this series.

I was provided a free copy at my request. I freely post my honest review.

Cliffhanger Yuck

I got this arc via audiobook boom and this is my voluntary review. This is a nice story and the narration was good but it ended in a cliffhanger. Such good writing only to spoil the entire experience with a cliffhanger. Loved the little girl. The town folks need to get a life. Can I say again why a cliffhanger?

Josie & Alex!

The perfect mix of romance and mystery, Ann Omasta has woven a story of two people trying to find their new normal. Josie Michaels had her dream of becoming an Olympic swimmer shattered. Coming to work att her aunt's diner, she found her place was better suited working the summer as a nanny for Hannah. Hannah has been having a tough time since her mother went missing. Alex, her father has been accused of her murder, and in this small town, both are treated cruelly. Now with Josie there, a new sense of warmth is being shared, not only with Hannah, but a slow burning passion with Alex. Will these two be able to find love and live in this small town? I love this start to the series. Omasta has delivered a story with broken characters, and I really liked that while a healing has begun, it's a very slow process. There is nothing easy, it feels realistic and at times the brutal honesty is heart wrenching. And the twist is a surprise and leaves me wanting book two! Narrated by the author, Ann Omasta brings the story to life just as she has written it. I enjoyed her voice and found her portrayal a great escape!

Touching romance

Ann Omasta not only wrote this sweet small town romance, she also narrated it and brought three souls damaged by unforeseen circumstance together.
Warning this story comes with a cliffhanger, but I will wait for the hopeful conclusion and hopefully an HEA.
Thank you Ann for gifting me this audible book for a fair and honest review.

Cliffhanger

Let me warn the reader. This ends in a cliffhanger! I took a star off for that alone.

An excellent depiction of how as family suffers at the disappearance of a family member. There's speculation and suspicion. In this case persecution. Most of all no closure and way too many questions. Enter someone who breaks through the personal tragedies of father and daughter. The story could have happened any number of times, Having it brought to life so well by the author was a bonus.

I recieved a free Audible copy of this story, at my request, in exchange for a honest review.
