Four Great Action Stories

Shelby Alexander is a former pro boxer, retired fixer and all-round tough guy who, along with his ex-Detroit sidekick Mac just can't seem to stay out of trouble of the dangerous and often deadly kind.
All four books are set in the small Michigan town of Serenity where Alexander has retired to fish and hunt and live out his sunset years, but Serenity isn't quite a suitable location for a guy like Shelby to settle and he isn't the kind of guy who can see injustice and not respond ... particularly when that injustice is aimed at people he knows and loves, so these stories are full of fisticuffs and gun play and just the kind of mayhem you'll love if you're a fan of vigilante justice of the ordinary hero type.
This collection gives you the first 4 stories in the series and house of listening enjoyment.

Good Series & Narration

Serenity Stalked
Killer comes into Shelby’s area, and targets him. You don’t mess with Shelby or his girlfriend. A lot of blood and adventure to be able to clear himself. Given ARC audio also for my voluntary review review and my honest opinion
The narration is good by Theo Holland.
Serenity..Avenged
Shelby finds his ex wife has gotten mixed into trouble. Then with his daughter Leslie ready to deliver the grandchild. He is good at fixing, he would rather be with his daughter. Adventure and laughs await
Given ARC audio also for my voluntary review and my honest opinion Narration by Theo Holland is superb.
Serenity.Submerged
Not a favorite with the torture and cussing. Otherwise good plot, and action and murder and mystery to figure out. Narration by Theo Holland is good and bring the story to life. Given ARC for my voluntary review and my honest opinion

Engaging and funny, excellent interpretation

I was pleasantly surprised by the audiobook version of the Shelby Alexander stories, a couple of which I had already read as e-books. The excellent performance of the narrator highlights the positive traits of the books. The personality of Shelby Alexander, the protagonist, emerges in full, revealing a smart, spirited, generous, and wise individual. The dialogues are witty and often hilarious, especially where the interactions between Shelby and his best friend Mac are concerned. The casts of characters are rich and diverse so that each book is unique, and listening to all the four stories in a row is very enjoyable. I loved listening to this audiobook, and I look forward to reading or listening to more of Shelby Alexander's adventures soon.

2 out of 4 isn't bad

My wife and I were ready to give this series a solid 4 star after the first 2 stories, but were glad we waited.
FYI we received this as a free promo so this is an unbiased opinion.

The first two books were good, even with the scenes better suited to the stage such as the dying cops monologue about leaving him behind. (VERY theatrical) We also wondered why the main character, and ex-pro boxer didn't know any dirty tricks. He kept complaining about arthritis but didn't use poor-man's brass-knuckles (a roll of coins)

The third story lost us. Aside from the problems with the daughter's pregnancy where the amount of blood the author described would've meant a miscarriage. (If it was only spotting, the child could have survived.) The description of the bad guy was better suited to a serial killer or drug dealer and the ex-wife came off as an entitled twat. We skipped to story 4 when my wife started rooting for the bad guy and demanding the ex's head.

As for story 4, it was just as disappointing, and I fell asleep.

Narrator was meh...

The story line was entertaining, but the narrator sounded like a 5th grader doing a book report.

Excellent narrator

So tired of the dead bore practice of many talented contemporary roller writers, such as Craig Hart, who use the names Christ, Jesus, and God as curses spewed out of their characters’ mouths. Now Hart has kicked it up a notch to, not only use Jesus Christ as a character’s curse, but wait for it… using F—king as Jesus’ middle name - what a charming way indeed for Hart to demonstrate his oh-so-chic modern moral sensibilities.
