About this listen

Like millions of Americans, Dr. John VanDuyne is stunned to watch President Tom Winston announce his plans to legalize narcotics in a radical bid to destroy the power of the drug cartels. Especially since, as Winston’s personal physician and a government health spokesman, VanDuyne might have expected some prior warning. And now he’s going to be right in the firing line when the uproar begins.

For President Winston, his daring plan could turn out to be political suicide. For VanDuvne, it’s going to be much worse than that. The cartels know the president has to be stopped before his controversial scheme can become law. And VanDuyne is the perfect tool to do it. Only he can get close enough to President Winston to administer a subtle poison without arousing suspicion. And when they snatch his 6-year-old daughter, Katie, and threaten to kill her, VanDuyne would appear to have no choice.

A great read

This is one of the best books I’ve heard or read in a long time. The characters were great, all of them. I didn’t want to put it down once I started it. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

How deep is the Merrill

I enjoyed the book, the story. The characters were different and interesting. They were well built throughout the story. The story itself was fluid and easy to follow. I would recommend this to anyone who wanted a good read and it also tugged at your heart emotionally. Enjoy

Intrigue and Redemption

A terrific listen. Great way to fill the void while you are waiting on a credit. I am listening to F. Paul Wilson's Repair Man Jack series and used this story as a filler while waiting on my next credit. I wasn't disappointed at all. Wilson does a great job at making you fall in love with the characters. I can't wait to dig in to another one of his books.

Great book!

I’m writing a review bc there are not many on this book so hopefully it will encourage others to listen bc I know that’s something I look at when choosing a book. It’s written really well and the narrator did a great job!

Quite the ride

Quite the ride. Kept guessing. Wouldn’t have believed Presidents character if not for recent events.

Betrayal in All Directions

The President's personal physician and best friend is being blackmailed, He must decide between his child and doing the unthinkable. Everywhere he turns he finds another betrayal and decides he needs to rescue her on his own and trust no one.

Don't start this book when you have to be somewhere, you won't be able to put it down. Very suspenseful and featuring some unlikely and sympathetic characters. Great read!

Loved

This book deserves more than a 5 rating. You can connect with Poppy as she tries to get Katie home. It's hard to put this book down and see what happens next. I highly recommend this book.
