If I touch her...my life is ruined.
She’s smart, beautiful, and just my type.
She’s also barely legal. The very definition of forbidden fruit. And I don’t just want a bite; I want to devour her.
Now she is standing before me, her gorgeous eyes filled with tears. She’s in trouble. She has a stalker, a dangerous one, and he’s getting closer. She needs my help.
She’s too innocent to know she should be more afraid of me.
I can no longer restrain myself. I’m about to shatter my entire life, just because of a sick crush.
This stand-alone novel is an expanded and reedited version of the previously published Mr. D.

I really loved the narration in this book. Both Lacey and Stephen narrated the story really well and I liked how even in the audio you can tell their age gap. Stephen as Mr. D was really well imo and I loved how deep his voice was throughout the book.
This book has forbidden love, age gap and forced proximity with a touch of psycho/thriller happening too.
We meet Corrine as a new student getting in trouble with the principal (Mr. D) for being late again and him assigning her detention. The story progresses rather quickly as this is a short novella. I loved that Mr. D wanted to protect her. He knew she was struggling and just wanted to be there for her. Corrine just wanted to be loved and to have attention since her mom never gave her any.
I can’t go into much more detail as the plot will be ruined, but I really enjoyed the twists and turns this book took. I was shocked at one point and by the end the psycho/thriller part of it had my mind blown lol. If you like a little smüt, age gap and some thriller/stalker stuff this book is for you and it’s a quick read!

Narration was good but I did find the female narrator sounded a little too old for the main character.

Wow, what did I just read? …or listen to? Because I did pick up the audio of this one and I’m so glad that I did. Lacey Anthony and Stephen Borne were fantastic and I really enjoyed how they brought this wild and crazy ride to life. Alta is such a master of writing unhinged characters and by the end of this one, I was thoroughly convinced that everyone was batshit insane, maybe even including me.
I really enjoyed both of our main characters–Mr. D and Corrine were both intelligent, a touch off kilter (or a shove), and by the end, utterly obsessed with one another. Their chemistry was off the charts and while their romance progressed at warp speed, moving from off-limits to I’ll off anyone that thinks about coming between us (don’t worry, no one ACTUALLY gets hurt, though I wouldn’t have been shocked), I really appreciated how well they complimented each other and I understood their immense draw to one another. Corrine was in desperate need of someone to give her affection and protection and Mr. D just wanted to be that protector. Can’t fault a man for looking out for a damsel in distress, right? …right?
There’s really not much more that can be said without giving parts of the plot away but be warned, this is not your typical dark romance. There were elements of psychological thriller in this one and plenty of twists and turns that I absolutely did not see coming. This is a quick read and full of excitement so while there wasn’t an extensive plot or Earth shattering character development, it was definitely entertaining and I highly recommend picking it up if you’re in for an adrenaline rush.
Unpredictable and wildly entertaining

Mr. D is a new principal at Black Mountain Academy. One of his students is on the verge of being kicked out of school for missing so much. After detention one day, Corrine has trouble starting her car, so Mr. D takes her home. When things happen he realizes she has a stalker and ends up staying at his place for the night until they can get this stalking figured out.
What happens when Mr. D. finds out who the stalker really is? Will Mr. D. and Corrine get a happy ending? What happens when Corrine's mother shows back up? Can Corrine get past the stalker?
