About this listen

I won’t let anything happen to you.

Fourteen years ago, Braxton Kane’s feelings were forbidden.

As an officer, he couldn’t fall for an enlisted…no matter how much he longed for Holt Madigan.

Now — as a police chief in love with a digital assassin — his promise to always protect Holt is becoming harder to keep.

I’ll protect you.

Holt doesn’t understand why his best friend has been pushing him away for months.

But when Brax’s life and career are threatened, Holt refuses to allow the distance any longer.

The Madigans protect their own, and Brax is family, whether he believes it or not.

I won’t let anything happen to you either.

Forced together, Holt realizes his feelings for his best friend have changed. His desire to explore the promise their single night together held is undeniable. His resolve to protect the man who has always protected him is unshakable. But if Holt wants a future with Brax, he’ll have to search and destroy the person who attacked him — before Brax activates the kill switch and sacrifices himself.

Love and devotion. Friendship and trust. Family. It all comes down to this. Holt and Kane, together at last, in the final book of the Fog City romantic suspense series.

Great StoryGreat Story

This is the fifth book in The Fog City Series. Please read the books in order to obtain the fullest enjoyment from this book. Fantastic story the writing was great. The plot was entertaining and it was steady throughout the book. I found the story and characters likeable. The characters were developed and thought out. Braxton and Holt are the MCs of this book. The narration was good while the narrators voice wasn’t my preference, he did a good job. It wasn’t monotone and he did a good attempt at different voices. I can recommend it as a good read/listen. I voluntarily read an advance copy of this book for an honest review.

what a roller coaster!!

first would like to mention that i got a free code. and tha k you for that, not sure i would pick it up otherwise but am very happy for that.
I havent listened to other books in the series so i didnt had a context for the background of the story.

at first i was a bit lost with the story but i will have to be honest the thing that cought my attention was the jewish reference and Hannukah. i never heard a story that mentioned other holidays then the regular Christmas/Thanksgiving so it was very refreshing (that, and me being jewish and currently celebrating Hannukah lol). i loved those details.

other then that the story between Holt and Brax is amazing. full of love and friendship. it is a slow burn type of relationship and take a few years to build up. there were maybe 2 or 3 sex scenes but oh boy they were hot 🔥 🥵 i would love more lol

the action story that progress keeps you on your toe and if this was a movie i would definitely enjoy it.

The narrator is new to me and i enjoyed it and thought it was very good.

overall totally recommend and think it worth a credit!!

Amazing listen!

This story is an amazing listen! I absolutely love Holt and Brax's story! This is final book of this series and I couldn't get enough of it. This slow burn is full of action and suspense and just so much feeling. I know before reading and now listening that these two will break me but I absolutely love it so much. Christian Leatherman does an amazing job with this narration. He definitely brings the emotions to this story. Such an amazing listen!

Captivating story!!

Wow! What a first audio experience this story was! Between the military events, the silent assassins, and the mysterious scenes, my mind was hooked right away. For starters, this author gives enough details that completion of previous books are not necessarily required. Though I do plan to go back just for personal reasons, but Layla did an amazing job of character development and backstory.

Choosing to start from the beginning is just so I can get more of Holt and Brax. Their chemistry was absolutely beautiful, with a connection like none other. True soulmates, lasting through good and bad times. I mean, it has to be serious to wait all those years to be together. And, their intimacy! Their solid foundation of friendship, developing into more, are what fairytales are made of!

The exploration of demisexuality was handled with the utmost respect and support. The level of trust shown by Holt of Braxton was perfection, likewise with Braxton of Holt. These two men were truly meant to be, especially with everything they have withstood throughout the years.

The Epic Conclusion

SIlent Knight is the fifth and final book in the Fog City series. This is not a standalone book. In order to understand what's going on, the reader needs to read the entire series in order. It's well worth it; Fog City is full of suspense, action, twists and turns, as well as epic love and passion.

Finally, the background between Holt and Brax is unveiled. It's just as passionate and intense as I suspected it would be. Two men drawn together immediately who's bonds of friendship and love were forged in battle. The present day obstacles they face are nothing compared to the loyalty and love they hold for each other. My favorite part of the book is the romance and relationship between Holt and Brax. I think they are perfect for each other, and that translates very well (and scorching hot) in the bedroom scenes.

Just like the previous books in the series, Silent Knight is full of soap opera drama and Hollywood-esque reality-bending. I didn't have any issues with the unrealistic details, but that's because I expected them from reading the four previous books and it works with plot. However, if realistic details are important for a reader, this may not be the book for them. The military and law enforcement parts of the book take a lot of liberties and do not reflect reality. But once again, all the fictional details work well for the plot and setting.

Thea audiobook was narrated by Christian Leatherman who does a nice job of bringing the book to life. The audiobook production was well done, and overall I had fun listening to this book.

Really good series to listen to.

Can’t wait hoping for the next series to a couple of the side characters in this series.these two were a long in awaited conclusion. Pretty perfect for each other. How Brax waiting paid off in the end. How Holt finally figured out who he loved truly. Good series.

Suspenseful MM Romance!

“Silent Knight” is such an amazing romantic suspense that involves two men that have been in love with each other for the last 14 years. Events led them on different paths but they were always meant to cross again.

Braxton and Holt met 14 years prior when Holt started in the military and Braxton was his commander. The two had an instant connection that started with friendship and developed into more as the years progressed. But when Holt is ready to leave the military, Braxton isn’t. The two keep in touch over the years and when they end up in San Francisco, the feelings that they had are still there. But there is something or someone that is trying to frame Braxton for something that never happened. With the help of Holt and his family, they work to right the wrong.

I loved how much history that Braxton and Holt have. We really get to see how deep it is from the very beginning and it provides so much insight on how much these two are meant to be together. I loved the slow burn and build up to these two coming together. It didn’t feel rushed or forced and that made me so happy. I loved catching up with the rest of the family and having them be involved to help solve the case.

Christian Leatherman did an AMAZING job solo narrating the book. All of his voices were distinct and you could tell who was who. I can’t wait to listen to more books by him.
