About this listen

My name is Honor, but I have none to speak of. I’m a high-society princess on the verge of ending it all. I have nothing to show for my life, though my bank account would say otherwise. Money and status has controlled every ounce of my world and I want no part of it. It’s what took away the most important person in my life. He’s gone and I’m alone, and no one is here to save me. Pain is the only pleasure I can feel anymore.

To find a healthier avenue to deal with my grief, I turned to Lotus House Yoga for salvation - and found it in the tall, dark, and brutally attractive Nicholas Salerno. He’s everything I’m not. Lives every day to the fullest, loves his family, and goes after what he wants with a thrust that’s unmatched. I can’t help but be swept up in his beauty as he attempts to show me the light and reawaken my desires. Except Nick doesn’t know what I’ve hidden, and I’m afraid he’ll despise what he finds...when my sins are no longer silent.

Sins

The books in this series get better and better! That’s saying a lot since the 1st book was awesome. Silent Sins was totally heart wrenching. The depth of feelings for the characters was all consuming. This was a bit different as it delved into a D/S relationship by going into the reasons behind it as what I perceived was attempting to explain it. Intense. Once again the characters were totally endearing, the plot was engaging, the entire package was… awesome. I’m excited to read the next, yet not happy to get closer to the end of the series.
The narrators were good, Lauren Sweet was really good, however Alexander Cendese would not have been my choice for Nick. He was good and It would have been ok if it had been males reading the male parts and females reading females parts (dual narration?) but I’m not a fan of Alexander’s female voice. When the narrators are off it takes away from the story. Fortunately, this story was already stellar.💖💖💖💖

Decent

Finally done with this series, though I read some books out of order. As expected, another annoying nickname, "Dove" for this one. It's a decent series, and I don't know if Audrey Carlan knows that every loving guy doesn't give the woman he loves a annoying nickname like, "Wild cat" and all the other ones in this series or not, but a lot of the male characters had the same traits. Nick and Mila's guy were damn near identical in character, they just had different backgrounds and lives. Anyway, I don't think I'll read anymore of this particular author's books for fear some of the repetitive things will trigger me. LOL. A lot of others may enjoy her books though as they are entertaining.

Suffered a little with the narration

This book was compromised by the female narrator. I've listened to other books she's narrated and wasn't put off by her reading, but, to me, this book suffered. Also, I wish narrators in general would stop reading louder to signal the voice of different character. It is jarring and it takes me out of the flow of the story.

Not my favorite Lotus House book

I really like Audrey Carlan and this series, and there are a lot of good things about this 5th volume. Honor's character development and growth was well done, the dynamic little community built throughout this series, and I love seeing the characters from previous books popping up!

There were two major things that hindered my enjoyment of this audiobook:

1. You have to accept a certain level of destiny and insta-love in order to enjoy this series, but in Silent Sins I found it less believable. There's really no build up or any deeper reason behind him thinking long-term "mine" thoughts about her the second he sees her. They sort of roll right into a relationship without any compelling reason or connection. I just couldn't connect with them as a couple.

2. In the audiobook, the male narrator's nasal, whiny portrayal of female voices made me cringe every time! Very distracting and unfortunate.

TERRIBLE NARRATION

I really despise how Alexander Cendese does women's voices. I find Lauren Sweet's cadence repetitive, odd, and very off-putting. I've listened to books 1-4 and 6 in the series, but this may be the first one I have to skip. It's...really unfortunate, because the book itself might be decent.

Yep, I'm in ch.4 and do not care enough about these people to suffer through the narration. I'm done.
