About this listen

While the world is ravaged by a global pandemic, hotshot NFL running back Evan Sparks is locked in his own personal hell. With a career-ending scandal on his back, Evan hides out in his best friend’s empty San Francisco home, the full city shutdown locking him in a lonely 20-story apartment in the sky.

Romance writer Sadie Walsh is having the worst case of writer’s block ever…until the incredible, muscular stranger staying next door gets her muse going strong. The pair of loners, never expecting to find a friend in all the madness, meet each day out on their balconies like a modern-day Romeo and Juliet.

Each new day brings unique challenges for the pair as they navigate the unknown and find solace together. They quickly figure out that as long as they have one another, they can handle anything.

Even falling in love under quarantine.

Had Potential

I am returning this book. I the h was a bit annoying. I hate when an author says throughout the book how a character (the h in this instance)is strong but the actions are anything but. If you want the character to be strong then portray them as such. The H storyline was good and wish I could have made it through the book to see if I was right on who betrayed him. Also if you are going to write about a current event, facts should be correct.

Just okay

I love Kylie Scott books. I love Audrey Carlin books. Their combined effort here is just so-so for me, though. The story has promise, but didn’t quite pan out. Andi Arndt was brilliant as always, but Will Damron fell flat for me, otherwise the audio would have been rated higher. Not a bad listen, but not the greatest. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Fun, plenty steamy, but definitely not her best.

While I've enjoyed many of Kylie Scott's books, and I truly appreciate the effort of pulling a sexy love story out of the past year's challenges, it just didn't quite measure-up to most of her other books. IMHO.
The most painful part for me however, was Will Damron"s voicing of Sadie. I almost gave up listening so many times because he made her sound like a petulant 6-year old child, which was more than a little creepy!

Too bad authors and editors don't consider requesting/casting dual narrators more often, rather than the readers voicing each other as the chapters alternate.

Unique

I love the way the author tells a story within a story, no cliche plot, and makes the book relatable to real life events.

Ps. a little too much expletives. A cautionary note would be nice. 🤗

Love Under Quarantine

Being 100% I wasn’t sure I wanted to listen to a book about the pandemic but its Kylie Scott and I love her books.

I will say because I listened to the audio I was a little thrown off by the dual narration because I am so used to Andi doing both in Kylie's other books. So I didn’t really welcome Will’s narration until about half way through. But then I warmed up to him and actually appreciated that he did Evan’s POV chapters.

I loved that Sadie is a romance writer that was kinda awesome. How they meet and start to talk is interesting. I think because so much hits home for a lot of us right now it’s a little hard to read.

The isolation and fear we are all feeling really shines through and that can be a little daunting. But the hope and love that the authors give us with the story twists gave it that little extra to want to know what happens.

Very glad I picked up this book and followed through with it. I really did enjoy this story and the different style than I am used to with Kylie's work.

pretty good

The storyline was pretty good. It had a little bit of a mystery which kept the story from being too sappy. What was kind of off was how quickly the couple became intimate considering it was during a pandemic, not to mention, other emotional and sexual safeguards. but I guess that's the way it goes when you're literally cut off from other people and all you basically have is each other.

Enjoyable listen.

Early quarantine stressors + romance + a little suspense. Sweet characters, one of whom is a writer with insights into a romance writer’s life sprinkled in. Great narration.

Ummmmm

I do realize I love romance novels so I can’t be too judgmental on a story being to fictitious but common. Falling in love in less then 2 weeks and never having touched each other 🤔. I feel like this one is a little over the top. Not to mention they made covid sound like the most deathly pandemic ever. 😂😂. Love Andy Arnt always amazing. I’d prob skip this one and wouldn’t waste a Credit.

Nostalgic! 😂

This started out feeling nostalgic...how strange is that? Lol! This was such a fun and a bit historical listen. I enjoyed the humor, the quirks, and all that pent up sexual tension 🔥!! Quarantine or not people still find ways to make meaningful connections, even when it's not convenient as your next door neighbor.

Love Under Quarantine

LOVE UNDER QUARANTINE By Kylie Scott & Audrey Carlan
This has been a most enjoyable read during the pandemic about the pandemic. Evan and Sadie are a great couple that each have issues to work through. Kylie Scott and Audrey Carlan did a wonderful job of putting this story together. I would love to see more collaborations between the two of them. Will Damron and Andi Arndt do an awesome job with narration. This is 5 stars.
