Dissension, Revenge, and a Threat to Democracy
J.R. Finn's mission to assassinate a troublesome militia leader becomes a quest for revenge.
His target in his sights, Finn is squeezing the trigger when his intended victim collapses. An unknown sniper has shot the target. Finn and his partner, Mary O'Brien, go looking for the other sniper.
During their search, Mary learns that a former associate wants to hire her. Until Mary verifies the man's identity, she believes he died years before in a drug war in the Bahamas. Once she's in touch with him, he tries to recruit her to join an assassination squad.
Suspicious of the timing, Finn and Mary seek a connection between the two events. What they learn has dire implications for the survival of democracy in the US.
Perfect for fans of tropical thrillers, Sin and Redemption will keep you captivated until the end.

What’s this book about? Finn and Mary, both assassins and lovers, are on a mission when things don’t go as planned. Things really take a turn when Mary’s past resurfaces close to Finn’s daughter, Abby. I loved this story as we get part of the puzzle that is Mary’s past, Finn’s daughter comes around, and it’s an all around a entertaining story. Some might complain that the majority took place on land and not enough sailing (yes, there is some), but I enjoyed it and honestly it might be my favorite one in the series to date.
And another favorite of mine is the narrator, David Bosco. He gives the characters all a voice and style of their, flow is perfect, and adds to the overall enhancement of the story. If you haven’t listened to one of his books, I highly recommend you give one a try even if it’s not your typical listen.
Overall, I highly recommend this series. Make sure to start from the beginning or you’ll miss important details. I assure you once you start, it will be difficult to put down.
Parental guidance/trigger warnings: Finn and Mary are assassins, I shouldn’t need to say this but...expect things like death/talk about hits, weapons or talk of, bad people doing bad things, and so on. Language used: Sx21

I love how Mary always teases him and how their relationship has progressed. (You know when they are assassinating the bad guys)
David Bosco brings the characters to life. Can’t imagine any other narrator for this series.

I love this series and all the antics that surrounds them. Gut feeling, in secret, I believe Finn’s daughter is taking after her daddy.
I received this free from the author or narrator for an honest review.

This is the ninth book in the series - technically it is a standalone story but so much has happened in the eight previous books (even though the author does provide some quick summaries of previous events) that to do this series justice, you need to start with the very first one.
Here, Finn is starting to develop a relationship with his daughter Abby, while he and Mary are on a job in Florida. Usually when the MCs are assassins, spies, etc., usually they are loners but having Finn and Mary deal with some family dynamics really makes their characters more interesting and not so black and white. Additionally, Mary is going through a bit of a personal crisis, causing her to turn to therapy for some help, which I found to be really unique in this genre.
As to the job Finn and Mary are tasked with accomplishing, while I found it to be interesting and very much out of current events, to me, it seemed like there was less action and twists but more conversation about event. This did not detract from my enjoyment of this story and I look forward to the next book in the series.
David Bosco, the narrator for all of the books in this series, is just terrific. I cannot imagine the voice of Finn being anyone else.
Very Enjoyable Series
