About this listen

Dear Internet: I (33F) work at a local paper, and two months ago, my editor assigned me a huge project - run the upcoming, highly anticipated Bachelor Anonymous contest.

Men from all over Southern California, vying for the coveted bachelor role, submitted their personal ads to my paper. The readers voted, and Single Dad Seeks Juliet won by a landslide.

Enter Mr. Bachelor Anonymous (40M), the single-dad Romeo seeking his Juliet. Blah, blah, blah, right? Wrong.

This guy is the ultimate man in a six-foot-three, chiseled-muscle, freaking Adonis package with aquamarine eyes. He's a former Navy SEAL, successful business owner, motocross-riding, charming, supportive, funny-as-heck single dad, and the more time I spend with him, the more I want to bring this contest thing crumbling to the ground for an entirely different reason.

Real talk: I think I'm falling for him.

Me, the woman who despises love, might be falling for the completely off-limits bachelor who I'm ironically assigned to help find love, while five other women think they're the only contestants competing for his heart. So, Internet. Am I scum? Or is all fair in love and war?

Contains mature themes.

Super cute!!!

Great up beat funny story!! Not a huge fan of male narrator. He has the same narration for the whole story.

So Cute!

What a cute story. The banter is great dialogue. And they way they fall for each other. Great!

Hallmark and Comedy Central write a book together.

I wouldn’t call this a “spicy” romance but has just the right amount of crude humor to go with the utterly Hallmark love story. I love that Chloe is sweet and just mischievous enough to help her dad and Holly along their destined path. Holly’s dad is just a hoot. I can’t imagine what the first family Christmas would look like!

Jake from the Ocean ❤️📰🌊💙

I loved Jake and Holley’s story. It starts out cute with his daughter’s POV, and shifts to their story.

I liked how awkward she was, as she navigates his dates with other women as she falls in love with him. So adorable.

Lots of funny parts, but sweet, as we look at both Jake’s relationship with his daughter and Holley’s relationship with her dad. Father daughter relationships are special!

A good story with an extra HEA.

Narrators were okay. Easy to listen to if the speed was turned up. Not bad enough to distract from the story.

Absolutely thought this story was awesome!

Not impressed with the female narrator, but this story was heartwarming and made me smile! So it’s now one of my favorite stories! ❤️❤️❤️

Cute, but disappointing

I love Max Monroe, but I was disappointed by this book. It’s not what I’ve come to expect from their books, which is a bummer because it had so much potential. The storyline is really good and the characters are fun, but the dialogue was a struggle and the narration was terrible. I think they were trying too hard to pull off the hilarity of the OG Billionaires and the Winslow Brothers, but these characters fell short. I have adored all of their other books, so I’m hoping the next in the series is better.

Update… After listening to the rest of the series, I think my opinion of this one was primarily due to the poor narration. The main characters become adorable supporting cast in the next book and their banter is as witty as I’ve come to expect from Max Monroe.

I’m not finished but I can’t wait

So far I love this book. Daughter puts single dad up for match making without his knowledge. I can’t wait to hear what happens to him and the reporter cause I think it’s going to be pretty good. Anticipation is getting to me. The guy narrator does a horrible female voice that is the only downfall. I like when they duet cause then I know who is talking and I think it flows smoother.

Cute story

The voices..seems like each character had 2 different voices. The main female characters voice at times were real and other times made her sound ditzy..the voice was awful
