About this listen

While her sister fights to hold on to the family legacy, Louisa Highwood works tirelessly to save the lives of wounded soldiers. Performance

I'd give the performance 5 stars, but she mispronounced Meshach through both books so far.

very good review

I absolutely loved this book as much or more than the first book in the series. I can't hardly wait to get to the third book.

Great heartwarming story

Liked the details of how the war could affect people’s lives.Made me feel empathy for everyone except the villains of course. Narrator very good, especially Wolf’s British accent. I can’t think of anyone who would want to go through what these people did without believing in a faithful God. Looking forward to book three.

Another amazing Christian story

I love Lorraine. Smelling a book. They always include God and prayer in families loving each other.

The struggle that the women endured going to Oregon comes to life here

This is the second book in the series and it was excellent. It definitely left you on a cliffhanger at the end. It showed the struggles of women trying to do men’s work and doing a very good job at it. All the characters were brought to life and you could picture the scenery in your head, and there was always God there to guide them

Several Discrepancies

I thoroughly enjoy a good book, but the amount of discrepancies in the story of this one are hard to overlook and made it not very enjoyable.

The middle if the story…

Please note you will need to read the full trio of books in this series to have the whole story. In the end of the series it is bittersweet and mildly incomplete. I don’t know if that is the norm for this author or not. This was my first series by her. I enjoyed learning more about the civil war however, I am not sure this series was worth being left wanting in the end. I might have enjoyed it more knowing it would be bittersweet.
