About this listen

In 1973, a virtual epidemic of flying saucer sightings occurred. What was most disturbing was that they seemed to be different from earlier sightings. For instance, there was an increasing incidence of physical injury, dangerous interference, and outright abduction of observers by mysterious beings associated with the phenomena.

This carefully documented book presents dozens of incredible yet unimpeachable cases of ordinary men and women who were suddenly caught up in events stranger than the wildest science fiction.

Who are these visitors to our planet? What do they want? Why does the air force seem to fear disclosure of the truth? These are the questions that have created Situation Red - a state of emergency for mankind and our entire world.

truly excellent accounting of UFO encounters.

A detailed, well researched and well written account of UFO encounters. Easy to read. Well worth your time.

Absolutely horrible narrator

The narrator ruined this book. I missed portions of this book due to the narrator trailing off at the end of sentences.

This narrator is ruining this book for me!

Would you consider the audio edition of Situation Red to be better than the print version?

I have not read the print version but I would say no because the narrator's style does not match the style of the author and information given.

What didn’t you like about Pete Ferrand’s performance?

Hate it!! His narration of this book drives me crazy! While I am sure he is great at narrating other types of books, his style is not suited to this one at all. This book had information I wanted but the narration was more in tune with an action-packed sci-fi thriller. I am tempted to return this book but I really do want to hear the information.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

No, the narrator would drive me crazy.

Any additional comments?

There is a lot of info in this book that I would like to "read". With the narrator being so distracting I might just see if there is a kindle book available.

Excellent Book!

These older books I often find stories that I’ve never heard before amazingly, as I’ve been into this topic for years now. Great book, if you’re even slightly interested in this topic give it a go.

Good book, great informative read

Good book, loved the content but really needed to go into more detail with the sightings and interactions events like he did in the other five books in this series, especially the first three. But still a good book and great content with a bit of new info in the field of studying this phenomenon.

People lie.

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

Nothing.

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

The narration was good. I liked the tone, and the cadence.

Any additional comments?

An author can be truthful in relaying other people's first hand lies.

In other words, relaying something exactly as it was told to you, without adding opinion, though useful in preserving a state of accuracy, only preserves the amount of truth the original teller included. In many cases some common sense theories would have strengthened the cases.

There are some obvious common sense conclusion one would make to some of the evidences.

People like to be special, like to be taken seriously, and like to believe their own fabrications. It makes a dull life much more interesting if aliens from beyond Earth are interested in you in particular for some reason.
