About this listen

An award-winning journalist investigates a story largely ignored by mainstream media but right there, in front of our eyes ...

Are we not alone? The moment we have an answer might have arrived.

Award-winning investigative journalist Ross Coulthart has been intrigued by UFOs since mysterious glowing lights were reported near New Zealand's Kaikoura mountains when he was a teenager. The 1978 sighting is just one of thousands since the 1940s, and yet research into UFOs is still seen by many as the realm of crackpots and conspiracy theorists.

In 2020, however, after decades of denial, the US Department of Defense made the astonishing admission that strange aerial and underwater objects frequently reported and videoed by pilots and tracked by sensors are real, unexplained and pose a genuine national security concern.

Compelled to investigate, Coulthart has embarked on the most intriguing story of his career, speaking to witnesses, researchers, scientists, spies, defence officials and intelligence insiders in an attempt to sift the truth from the conspiracy. In the US, powerful new laws and a hardening of government resolve may soon force the military and intelligence communities to reveal what they know about alleged UFO crash retrievals and secret reverse-engineering programs.

Bizarre, sometimes mind-blowing and utterly fascinating, in this new edition of In Plain Sight, Coulthart explains why there is cause for optimism that 'the biggest story ever' might finally be about to break.

Great book!

Enjoyed this book, and found the information really interesting. His skeptical approach and cautious guidance made him easy to follow along with, even when things sounded absolutely crazy. My only critique is that his American accents are humorous. The way he does it is the way we would do an impression of someone we are mocking. I'm sure that's not his intent, but definitely noticed it. Overall 5 stars for sure!

Amazing (at my level)

Lifelong interest in UFO/UAP and space led me to buy this book.

I do not have a photographic memory, but the sum of stories I have heard kept my interest going. I could not put this book down. Will.need to listen once again.

If you're an expert on the field already, this book might not give you much new information? I'm not sure.

Have I been hoaxed? If so, it's been a good ride.

Pleasantly surprised

I purchased this book because I saw the author talking about his book in an interview and he had impressed me. The first third of the book led me to believe I would be let down because everything discussed I already knew. To my surprise that changed and the author's skill as an investigative journalist really shined through and continued on for the remainder of the book. He did a fantastic job of filling in pieces of the story I had not heard and he also did a fantastic job of making sense of, and tying together, a lot of things that had previously confused me and made me skeptical. Kudos to this author for doing such an excellent job. I definitely recommend this book to anybody interested in this topic. It was truly an exciting read.

Weird Voice Imitations

The content of the book is really interesting and has a lot of stuff that has been out there but it has some stuff that hasn’t been out there as often as well. The drawback is the narrator does these weird imitations of the people quoted. He also does this in the reading of emails and other written words, with inflection. He also takes deep breaths at the beginning of most sentences.

Good book

This is a well researched book and a good read even for people who have been following the history of the UFO cover up for years.

An amazing piece that’s packed full of great investigative journalism and an entertaining performance.

Unlike other it seems, I really enjoyed Ross using different voices and his take on the audio. Looking forward to more!

Insightful and Well-Researched

Great primer on the current state of the UFO/UAP situation.
My only complaint would be that Ross— who has a lovely voice and narrates beautifully— might be better off NOT attempting American accents. Sorry, Ross. I love you!

Riveting. a single"UAP 101" master class catchup

I've been getting more into this topic since the tictac and UAP reports started heating up the past couple of years. I came across Ross Coulthart in his youtube interviews and he showed poise, intelligence, candor, and an immense journalistic integrity increasingly rare these days.

this book should be the definitive starting point for all interested in the Phenomenon, considered a textbook that catches someone up on the entire 70 year story to 2020's announcement of an upcoming UAP report to congress from the ODNI.

this book clued me into several unknown new corroborated angles on the 70 year suspicions of US gov alien crash posession and reverse engineering programs, presented with sincere intellectual curiosity and healthy skepticism.

A quick review and the latest in the realm of UAPs

Great review.. on the classics. But even more interesting about the latest news of the past 10-15 years.

Because of the New York Times story on UAPs .. the dust is beginning to settle on the world of advanced Technology and the probability of not be alone on this planet.

With the dust settling we are starting to get a clearer view of what the nature of our reality really is .. and I for one, am completely astonished at the implications for us humans .

I say good luck to everyone, the world as we know it has been a sweet dream.. it’s time to wake up and face reality.
