Praise for Sky Zone

“Creston Mapes’s fans are in for a treat. Sky Zone crackles with Creston at the top of his game. Don’t miss this one.” (Jerry B. Jenkins, N.Y. Times best-selling author of Left Behind)

Sky Zone not only hits all the marks for a ‘must-read’ thriller, but it sets a whole new bar for Christian Suspense. I dare you to start reading and then put it down. I dare you. The action never stops and the thrills just keep coming. The plot could have been ripped out of the headlines and it reads like a movie unfolding before your eyes. You’ll be flipping through the pages as fast as you can read.” (Wanda Dyson, best-selling author)

“Mapes’ writing shines in his best novel to date. Don’t miss this riveting, page-turning thriller that will have you up late reading the dramatic, satisfying conclusion of an all too real scenario.” (Nora St. Laurent, founder, The Book Club Network)

About the Author

Creston Mapes grew up in Northeast Ohio, where he has fond memories of living with his family of five in the upstairs' portion of his dad's early American furniture store - The Weathervane Shop. Creston was not a good student, but the one natural talent he possessed was writing.

He set type by hand and cranked out his own neighborhood newspaper as a kid, then went on to graduate with a degree in journalism from Bowling Green State University. Creston was a newspaper reporter and photographer in Ohio and Florida, then moved to Atlanta, Georgia, for a job as a creative copywriter for a printing firm/ad agency.

Creston served for a stint as a creative director, but quickly learned he was not cut out for management. He went out on his own as a freelance writer in 1991 and did work for Chick-fil-A, Coca-Cola, The Weather Channel, Oracle, ABC-TV, Johnson Controls, TNT Sports, colleges and universities, ad agencies and more. He's ghost-written more than 10 nonfiction books.

Along the way, Creston has written 10 contemporary thrillers, achieved Amazon best seller status, and had one of his novels (Nobody) optioned as a major motion picture. He plans to continue writing fiction into the sunset.

Creston married his fourth grade sweetheart, Patty, and they have four amazing kids who range from 21 to 31 years old. Creston loves his part-time job as an usher at local venues were he gets to see all the latest-greatest concerts and sporting events. He enjoys reading, fishing, time with his family, and dates with his wife.

Series surprised me & delighted me!

First books I've read by Creston Mapes & I was captivated by the stories that flowed seamlessly from the first through the third books in this series. Fast paced, believable & pertinent to our current world. The highlights for me were the moments of struggling with faith & of trusting God... then seeing God's work unfold... working 'all things for good for those who are called according to His purpose.' Thank you!

Has potential

The author is a decent writer but needs a plot. There was action and character development but no plot. The narrator was a good reader but his sing song manner would work well for children's book but not for this genre.

Good story

Story was good although not my favorite.
The reading performance was awful. I’m too used to narrating with voice changes for different characters but the effort here was bad.

Good story but a little long in places

I would definitely listen again. It had a good plot but in places it got a little long. I really like the characters. The first two books in this series were awesome.

fantastic for all except Kindle. (Whispersync)

It is a shame on Kindle / Audible / Amazon when the author, reader, and editors do such a wonderful job, but these e-publishers can't afford decent Android programmers. Audio and text fall out of sync around Chap 8 and cannot be fixed. Listened on Audible and no problem -- except no text.

Favorite

I enjoyed this book. Even though it is fictional, it makes you wonder to what lengths one will go. This book is my favorite of the three in this series. I look forward to the next book by Creston Mapes.

Sky zone

Any additional comments?

A good political thriller, Sky Zone moved along well and kept my interest but I did feel lost by not having listened/read the previous books. Creston Mapes plots a good story with a good balance between story and action.

Good story, poor reading

I really enjoy Creston Mape’s stories. They’re very interesting and encouraging. The reader for this one, though, left much to be desired. Awkward phrasing, and even the repeating of several sentences to get the emphasis correct, left me feeling my husband was reading this book to me. Not a compliment. (Sorry Dear) I think the reader of the previous book in this series would do it justice.

Absolutely fantastic

What an awesome series of books, it is awesome to read stories that have Jesus at their centre, but keep nail-biting suspense. Thank you so much

Terrorist Attack in Ohio

Frightening but very interesting story about a terrorist attack in Columbus, Ohio (The Heartland of America). Senator Sterling, a presidential candidate, is the main target but a large gathering of people are put at risk by the jihadists. The inclusion of Everett Lester (ROCK STAR CHRONICLES) and his family was fascinating. Jack Crittendon, his wife, and her mother were my favorite characters. Pam (wife) was in such a horrible situation and Margaret (her mother) was just wonderful. The action was nonstop, the narration by Troy Klein very good, and the ending quite surprising.
