About this listen

Slade McCafferty was a bachelor through and through - too busy raising hell to settle down. Case in point: 15 years ago daredevil Slade had taken wild child Jamie Parsons's innocence, and then had broken her heart. But Jamie is back in town, a lawyer, all confidence and polished professionalism. And seeing her again is setting off a tidal wave of emotions Slade thought he'd dammed up ages ago. Back then, as now, there'd been something about Jamie that made Slade ache for more. A hell of a lot more....

Another book about the McCafferty boys - great for western romance readers. The plot continues as they try to determine just who is targeting them but the author makes time for another brother to fall in love. And, of course, there's more of that hot edgy sex.

Sexy Western Suspense

A great listen: engaging characters, good plot development and an enjoyable story. I can only hope there will be more books to follow in this series. Well worth the credit.

Did Amy McFadden do a good job differentiating all the characters? How?

I really enjoyed Todd Haberkorn's narration of Thorn and Matt. Amy made Matt sound whimpy -- so totally different than I was used to hearing.

Any additional comments?

I find it very frustrating when a narrator is changed during a series. One gets used to the sound of the voices and often the second person doesn't give the characters the same sound which I find very frustrating.

Why change the narrator?

Where does Slade rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

It was good

Who was your favorite character and why?

Matt he seems to be the more even keeled of the brothers, not too business, not extreme cowboy at times.

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Amy McFadden?

The original guy Todd Haberkorn. Having this girl narrate this after him was a horrendous
choice. She took it from being about rough and tough ranchers to a completely different place. It emasculated the characters for me. It ceased being about Ranchers in Montana.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I did until I saw the nararator had changed and when I started to listen it just was not the same. I drudged through this and the last part Randi just because I wanted to know who the bad guy was. Otherwise I would have asked for my money back.

Any additional comments?

Please don't do this to a series of books again. This narrator made it an annoying experience.

Destroyed story with Wrong Narrarator

Would you try another book from Lisa Jackson and/or Amy McFadden?

First and last try.

Would you recommend Slade to your friends? Why or why not?

Don't waste your credit. Average story line.

How could the performance have been better?

The narrator actually had a good voice for a male character. He would have done well with mystery or lead male characters with someone else reading the female part. There were too many feminine characters in this book to have a male narrator.

Any additional comments?

Maybe her later published books are better.
