About this listen

Not Quite the Fairy Tale is a series of paranormal romance written for a mature audience. Expect adult language and naughty stuff. Each book is a stand-alone.

Aurora Stephenson is the ultimate lady, the picture of grace and perfection. She’s distant, detached, and consequently, no one thinks she has a heart.

They’re wrong.

For years, she’s cared for, and cared about, one person beyond anyone else. Nevermind the fact that King Rupert isn’t exactly what one would call alive.

He's slept for 100 years, and nothing can awake him...or so Aurora thinks.

“Basically nothing had changed as much as his bathroom.”
From the summary, I knew this would be a romance based on a fairy tale twist.
However, I wasn’t expecting the urban fantasy, futuristic twist of Rupert being encased in carbonite for the past hundred years and Aurora being a scientist.

What I was expecting was more naughty bits. The only F’s in this are the F bombs.
That’s right, there’s some flirting and lusty thoughts, but the HEA fades to black.

This wasn’t so much a novella as a light-speed outline of various folks from myths and fairytales,
from Rumplestilskin to Hook to Hades and a ‘just the bullet points’ focus on one particular couple,
before setting up the next couple’s story. It was interesting, but there wasn’t much to hook me
beyond the concept. Of the four novellas I bought together at the last sale, this was the best of the bunch.
