Slow Living has made an immediate impact on my life. My life has been pure chaos for the past 8 months with two major surgeries that I have had to recover from all while balancing my job, household duties, my daughters dance classes, and keeping my partner happy and satisfied. I have felt as if I was in a hamster wheel at times just running in circles. This audiobook came into my life at the right exact time. The subtitle really says it all. This book has taught me how to reduce the stress in my life by teaching me new time management skills that I never knew I desperately needed. It has taught me how to really view all challenges on a simplistic level and not get too worked up over the little things that I cannot control. Most of all, it has taught me how to be fulfilled, happy, and grateful, for all the wonderful things I do have in my life. I personally found chapter 5 to really hit home which focuses on mindfulness and presence. I think I found that being present is the aspect of my life that I have struggled with the most recently. I feel as if my thoughts are always pulled in a thousand different directions and this book makes me feel grounded again.

I recently dove into the audiobook *Slow Living* after coming across the idea of "slow travel" while I was planning my latest vacation. This time, I decided to take it easy and not cram the week full of activities. No rigid schedules or pressure to see everything—just pure relaxation. And let me tell you, it turned out to be the best vacation I’ve ever had! It was so peaceful, fulfilling, and refreshing.

Listening to this audiobook felt like a big sigh of relief. The author breaks down the slow living philosophy into four key principles, but what really struck me was how doable it all seemed. It’s not about ditching your to-do list or ignoring your responsibilities; it’s more about adding intention to our daily lives. Whether it's how we spend our time, organize our spaces, connect with others, or even approach our work, it's all about being more mindful.

One chapter that really resonated with me talked about the importance of gracefully saying “no” and unplugging from all the digital noise that surrounds us. Honestly, the pace of modern life can be a bit overwhelming, and this book offers some practical tips for reclaiming your time and focusing on what really matters.

If you're looking for a reset or just want to explore living with a bit more meaning and less chaos, *Slow Living* is definitely worth a listen. I finished it feeling grounded, inspired, and, honestly, a little more hopeful that embracing a slower, more intentional life is not just possible, but absolutely necessary.

I loved the book and found its message very timely. For me, it provides a great foundation for simply slowly being yourself, something easier said than done in today’s world.

I really appreciate the focus on what truly matters, acting on these values and embracing the discomfort that comes with it. Mindfulness and presence can support this process, while at the same time, they can be strengthened by living in alignment with yourself. It’s a deeply fulfilling, increasingly freeing and never-ending path.

The advice on a minimalist approach, mindful media consumption and digital detox is also very practical. Lastly, I really appreciate the emphasis on cultivating connection, community and deeper relationships from an authentic place.

This audiobook is a thoughtful and timely antidote that serves as both a philosophical reflection and a practical guide for those seeking to reclaim balance, presence, and purpose in an increasingly chaotic world. Meadows offers a compelling case for embracing simplicity, mindfulness, and intentionality in daily life with a tone that is as soothing as its message. Each chapter gently unfolds a key aspect of slow living, from decluttering physical spaces to cultivating meaningful rituals and conscious consumption, one of the audiobook’s most commendable features. The author’s reflections on the art of saying “no” and establishing boundaries are particularly impactful, offering listeners actionable tools for protecting their time and energy. Southam’s narration perfectly complements the material—her calm, steady delivery reinforces the book’s tranquil ambiance, making the listening experience feel almost meditative. A beautiful companion for mindful mornings or reflective evenings.

Life felt like a constant race, and I didn’t realize how much it was draining me until I read this. It breaks down slow living into simple steps that actually fit into real life, not some dreamy, unrealistic lifestyle. I’ve started cutting out a few things that don’t matter and making space for the ones that do. It’s not about doing nothing, it’s about doing what matters, more mindfully. This gave me permission to breathe again, and I really needed that.
