Despite his deformities, Inspector Wlady Strath is the best. But in the middle of a case, an unidentified creature kills his only suspect.
Strath and his investigation are soon caught between government security forces and insurgents. Wanting to protect his family, does the Inspector dare trust a strange woman who speaks a language only he can understand? Or will she lead him to his death?
Lieutenant Keil is saddled with a dysfunctional cybernetic team and sent to a dying world to retrieve the last member of the Royal family. Poisoned by the environment and hunted by the government, Keil and her team are locked in an all-or-nothing race to rescue the last heir.

this is my last one in this series. there is more but a different narriater. These are not what I normally listen to . But its good for a change. if you enjoy this genre you will love theo Holland as the narriater. i received a free copy of this book and that has no influence on my review. Theo Holland does a great job narraiting this book.

After the haunting tragedy of Diamond Mind, I was so excited to move directly into Sons of Amethyst. After finishing the book, I feel confident that I understand what it was going for, but the internal impact and emotional resonance was weaker.
I can't go into details on where the actual emotional resonance does occur without spoiling the final chapters. However, if you are not paying attention, you may miss the scene core to the entire book.
Theo Holland's narration is perfect as ever. In this world, everyone must wear masks, and so each time someone talks outside, it is put through a compressor to muffle the words ever so slightly. It occurs often, and it makes the story feel so real in those moments.
A very different Sa'vine story
