About this listen

Lawman's heart

Schoolteacher Sarah McKenzie is desperate to help one of her students who walks around with a haunted look in his eyes. With no one else to turn to, she reluctantly asks Jesse James Harte, the handsome police chief, for help. Jesse unnerves her in more ways than one, especially when he turns his intense gaze her way.

Jesse grew up as wild and untamed as his Old West namesake, but now he’s the law in this stretch of the Wyoming high country. That means trouble is his business - and if he’s ever seen somebody in trouble, it’s Sarah. Jesse can tell she’s running from something - something that might be catching up with her. Jesse will risk everything, even his heart, to keep Sarah safe.

First published as Taming Jesse James by Silhouette Intimate Moments in 2002.

Enjoyed Both Stories

Springtime in Salt River had great twists.
Love Thine Enemy the 5 year old twin girls stole the story.
There were some negative comments regarding the second narrator. However I thought she did a good job.

GREAT STORIES BUT....

I'm not sure that it is fair for me to review this book considering it is a 2 in 1. RaeAnne Thayne's Springtime in Salt River was a wonderful story and the narration would have received a 5 star rating if I were reviewing it alone. I enjoyed BOTH stories, but the narration by Cici Dee deserved a 2-3 star rating IMO. Cici Dee's narration was all over the place...somewhat good at times...sometimes really bad and other times, just ok! Never great at any time! Patricia Davids is a talented author but she needs to be careful on her choice of narrators in the future.

I don't think it was fair to include both novels under one cover and expect the listener to review fairly. It's difficult to review such a combo. Next time...maybe the same narrator should do both novels! Problem solved! :)

Two books, two different reviews

Springtime in Salt River had an okay story but was filled with unnecessary gratuitous sex that birds me and I fast forwarded through. Love Thine Enemy was much better. The story was interesting and the author didn't use cheap sex scene filler.
