Great series now only if Audible had the next book

both the story and performance of the narrator were very well done. a unique twist to some of the usual story lines you see from this era.

now only if Audible would get the rest of the series available. They seem to stock every 3 book.

The New Master of Naval Fiction

Alexander Kent's Bolitho saga carries on the legacy of other fine authors such as C.S. Forester. As a former Royal Naval officer, Kent brings a keen understanding of life aboard ship and the challenges of command. Stand Into Danger is the story of a young officer (Richard Bolitho) who has to learn, first hand, about those challenges and the dangers that accompany them.

Seeking missing treasure

I love a good sea story. This story takes place in 1749 and is between wars so the British Navy is reducing ships and personnel. Lt Richard Bolitho is happy he got as assignment as the number 3 lieutenant on a 24 gun frigate. The ship is sent out on a special assignment to find some missing treasure taken by the British from a Spanish ship then stole from the British. There is lots of action with battles both on land and sea. Bolitho is still learning his trade and learning how to be a leader. Michael Jayston did an excellent job narrating the book. This is the 3rd book in the series. If you like good old fashion sailing ship stories you will enjoy this one.

Kent has a great story to tell...

I love the story line and Bolitho and his shipmates are great characters, but Alexander Kent needs to learn to express himself better. Run a tally for every time a character simply "said" or "asked". No adjectives or alternatives like exclaimed or pondered. Nope. Just said or asked. The count is way too high.

Bolitho is awesome!

Excellent story, and masterfully read by Mr. Jayston. If you close your eyes and immerse yourself in the story you can just about feel what it must have been like to stand on a sailing ship of old. What a feeling it must have been!
