About this listen

Veridian lll: A world has been saved, the U.S.S. Enterprise 1701-D lies in ruins, and one of the galaxy's greatest heroes rest beneath a simple cairn of rocks on a lonely hillside. But as a legendary Vulcan ambassador comes at last to the grave of his best and dearest friend, the adventure is only beginning. For the Borg and renegades from the Romulan Empire have joined forces in an unholy alliance against the United Federation of Planets, and their ultimate weapon is none other than James T. Kirk, resurrected by mysterious alien science to destroy the Borg's most formidable enemy: Jean-Luc Picard. From Deep Space Nine to the Borg Homeworld itself, the battle is joined in the ultimate confrontation between the old generation and the new. Old friends are reunited and ancient secrets revealed, as Riker, Spock, Data, and all of the Federation's best and brightest find themselves enmeshed in a cosmic saga that will test their strengths and loyalties to the very limit.

I have the pleasure of knowing Bill personally and have spent time with both he and his wife on horseback and on set while they were shooting a film along the border in AZ. What people don't know is that Bill is just as adventureous in real life (or more so) than any of the characters he plays on stage, screen, or can ever can be captured in a written work of fiction. This novel is in my opinion his best work (paired with his co-authors). It's a shame the big movie studios never optioned this one for the screen.

Shatner does a great job... but he should try to change his voice up just a bit more for the different voices .... really have to pay attention when everything sounds like it was said by Kirk! lol.

great story!

Shatner has exceeded all my expectations and achieved my impossible desire for Pjcard and Kirk to collaborate again. I know the remaining stories wil not fail.

spectacular use of the Star Trek Universe

good story, picking up where Star Trek: Generations, very original story with a nice call back to another Trek in the end.

I was easily able to follow the story, and impressed with how I could relates to the various characters. Shatner's narration was great as well.

I really didn't care for the movie "Star Trek-Generations". I'll go as far as saying that I like Star Trek 5 even better than "Generations"
I didn't like the way they killed off Kirk. If Spock, Scotty and Bones can still be alive in the future during STNG, why not Kirk? This book should have been the next movie in the Star Trek franchise after Generations. It picks up right after the events of that movie and it's no cheesy resurrection story, it was well thought out and executed. This is one of the top two best Star Trek audio books of all time by any author.(Go ahead and look it up)
The sound effects and music really add to the experience and Shatner does a good job with the different voice characterizations. A must listen for any Star trek fan.

This book was a fantastic read. They should have made this into a movie. If you want to see Captain Kirk go out fighting and be hero than this book is for you.

What an excellent book

Really nice story that combines a few things from the past with a lot of other things and brings nice Star Trek memories back. William Shatner reads it majestically and that gives the story an extra touch.

Thrilling
