About this listen

Zoe thought she could accept the terms of their affair: exceptionally hot, no-strings-attached sex. But when Andrew coldly informs her of his impending move to New York - and unknowingly turns her world upside down - Zoe tries to forget her unspoken wishes for something more and attempts to move on with her life.

Just as she seems to have found a bit of stability and serenity, Andrew unexpectedly reappears - as the fiancé of Zoe's vapid, cruel cousin, Ashley. Harboring a secret hope that remains undiminished by time, Zoe attempts to keep her distance and protect her heart. But Andrew's presence is hard to ignore. And if he uncovers the truth, Zoe will be forced to face the consequences of their past and risk opening herself up to an uncertain future.

The things we do for love!!

A second chance romance that I liked very much. It definitely will take you on an emotional roller coaster. Zoe, a woman who has been through a lot in her life, falls in love with Andrew; a man who is only concerned about a no strings attached relationship. When he leaves to go back to New York, she is left with a broken heart and a little piece of him to remind her everyday of what they shared. Fast forward 4 years and Zoe is doing quite well for herself; but little does she know, she's about to come face to face with her past and in the worst way possible.
This book will take you through all the emotions Zoe has to endure and you will love and hate Andrew. Other great characters in this book and some sweets to go along!

Quick book

An easy and quick book to listen to at work. The lead is a little meek.

cute, short romance book

This was a cute, quick listen. Girl falls for boy, boy leaves, heart gets broken type of thing. I enjoyed the characters and the story, it just did not give me a wow factor.

Pathetic heroin

I am actually writing this before I’m even finished. I cannot stand what a jerk the guy is and what a pathetic woman the main character was!! She just lets him talk so nasty to her and she still is infatuated with him. It makes you angry listening to it!!

Okay

The narration was great however I didn't like the HEA and hea. The HEA was mean. He spoke awful to hea and the hea came off as a doormat with no spunk or sass. I think the plot was good but the plot devices that moved the story along seemed awkward. For example. You wouldn't really call your child's father over to baby sit while you go on a first date especially if the baby daddy relationship is strained right? I actually liked the secondary characters much better. I would read this author again

Ridiculous Heroin

The H was a compete d$&@ and the heroine was pathetic. She obsessed for years over a man who gave her absolutely nothing but sex. And when he came back 4 years later she still fantasized about him and was weak for him even though he was engaged to someone else.

Almost there.

This story is so infuriating. I hate to love it, and want to hate it. So much potential of being s proper angsty romance. Not a discombobulated un rational read. Zoe is worst than a kicked abused dog. No self preservation, boundaries and back bone. Andrew’s reason for his disrespectful analholery was not warranted. His presumptuous cocky, demanding attitude was grating.

Zoe made it way too easy for Andrew and didn’t have him prove himself worthy of her. She was as easy as melted butter.

This story was told like the writer was in a rush in some places and didn’t want to give the plots more depths. The story scenario had potential to be great, that is why I stuck with it. Yet i kept on being disappointed.
The three stars are for a good story plot and being able to bring my emotions out.

Some angst, love the plot, but overall frustrating.

I found this one hard and almost DNF’d early on. I simultaneously listened and read, and stuck with it because it’s not poorly written and the audio narration was well done.

I felt like aspects were just frustrating and overall these characters unlikable. For secret baby to work, I need more than just “he doesn’t want to be with me” and his reasons for not wanting more weren’t that big or believable for me. I also prefer if you have an evil OW that you don’t make it be that she was evil because of a reason that doesn’t make sense. Just let her be evil because she is!
