About this listen
(Marcela Valdes, The New York Times)

Story
On May 14th, 2003, the familiar risk taken by hopeful immigrants illegally crossing the Mexican-American border into the United States took a tragic turn.
At least 74 illegal immigrants bound for Houston were crammed inside a sweltering truck trailer, which was found abandoned near Victoria, Texas. In the end, nineteen individuals died. Bodies were found stacked upon each other, each human body slumped over the other in what was described as a “human heap of desperation”.

Story
In July 2004, Barack Obama electrified the Democratic National Convention with an address that spoke to Americans across the political spectrum. Now, in The Audacity of Hope, Senator Obama calls for a different brand of politics: a politics for those weary of bitter partisanship and alienated by the "endless clash of armies" we see in Congress and on the campaign trail; a politics rooted in the faith, inclusiveness, and nobility of spirit at the heart of "our improbable experiment in democracy".

Derek Black grew up at the epicenter of white nationalism. His father founded Stormfront, the largest racist community on the Internet. His godfather, David Duke, was a KKK Grand Wizard. By the time Derek turned 19, he had become an elected politician with his own daily radio show - already regarded as the "the leading light" of the burgeoning white nationalist movement. "We can infiltrate," Derek once told a crowd of white nationalists. "We can take the country back." Then he went to college.

Muy Bueno
I really liked it, it reflects the true situation that many immigrants live today, and from the point of view of a media professional who, besides being strange in the US and being a citizen of that country out of conviction, has the firm conscience of Speaking without passion and impartiality makes you analyze your own identity on soil different from your place of birth.
