Publisher's summary

Anji Baard Moen, a recent widow, returns from Norway with her children. She quickly settles back into life in Blessing, teaching Norwegian history in the high school and writing articles for the Blessing Gazette. When tragedy strikes, Anji steps in to run the newspaper and soon finds a kindred spirit in the widower who owns the printing press. As they spend time together, Anji wonders if there's something more than friendship growing between them. But Anji has also caught the eye of a recent arrival to Blessing. He has put his carpentry skills to good use on the town's building projects, including Anji's house. But Anji is torn between her feelings of loyalty to someone who needs her and the chance to build a new life with this intriguing newcomer. Where will her choice take her?

A good story

being the last book of a 4 book series … I am well into the lives of the characters and in this one there were curveballs thrown into it.

Heartbreaking

I don’t want to give anything away but this was the first time I actually had to hold back sobbing over the loss of a fictional character. Devastatingly sad. The ending I thought very strange. Anji’s reason for staying didn’t really make sense- Thomas’s leaving didn’t make sense. It seemed that the story may have been building towards something else between Anji and another. I was getting my hopes up about a possible rekindling of some kind just for it to end abruptly. The impression of that build up seemed pointless. Overall I feel Anji’s presence in this book didn’t fit completely.

Life goes on

This was a tough addition to the series with devastation coming to Blessing in the form of an illness brought in and affecting so many. But also blessings as well

Good series

What did you love best about Streams of Mercy?

Referencing God, faith building.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

yes

Any additional comments?

All 3 books in this series very good. Loved the emphasis on God and prayer without legalism or judgment. The narration in this one was technically not quite right: Can hear a man in the background at times saying "rolling" or something like that, and it got really old hearing Nielsen swallowing, although on all other books I've listened to of hers this is not the case. Overall very good, although sometimes negative, but funny at times too, and really enjoyed the trust and faith in God brought out in the stories.

Read the entire series!

This is the last series in a group of series about Blessing, North Dakota. I have read all from start to finish...all in all I'm guessing about 15-18 books. Start at the beginning and read them all! They are very motivating in my own personal life and help me to strive to get back to basics! A big help in my Christian walk and relationships with others as you get to know the characters and see how they lived in the pioneer days. Next book coming out October 2016 and I cannot wait!
