About this listen

They had a plan, but it didn't include getting stuck in the 19th century! In this stand-alone adventure, Robert, James, and Lucy Baxter travel to the 19th century on an important mission, starting by befriending a young Charles Dickens. If the children fail, it could prove fatal for one of them. They have to work as a team to find a way through their problems, especially as once again they find themselves stuck, without the means to get home. At that point, Lucy realizes she needs to step up and take control, or all will be lost!

Great story that keeps you captivated

I was given a free copy of this audiobook and I have voluntarily left this review:

I would say that I really, really enjoyed this audiobook. This is book 3 in the series, but you don’t necessarily need to listen to them in order (it helps, but you can still listen to this as a stand-alone). Also, while the author took some slight liberties regarding the historical facts/dates, it was just to make this a more enjoyable story.

In this story the 3 Baxter kids head back in time to 1824 to obtain a missing artifact that could spell imminent doom for one of the Baxters if they don’t succeed. As you can guess, not everything goes as planned, and they end up staying in 1824 a little longer than they intended. They’re smart kids, though, so they’ll figure out a plan…

The author is a great storyteller, and the narrator does an excellent job bringing his stories to life. I’ve listened to a couple of the audiobooks in this series and they have all been great. The only reason I haven’t left reviews for those audiobooks is because I’m not good at writing reviews. To sum up this review- this truly is a great book and you won’t be disappointed.

Time Spent With Charles Dickens

In this third book of the "Time Travel Adventure Stories" series, the Baxter children become stuck in the year 1824. During their adventures, they meet up with a young Charles Dickens. I enjoy these creative stories which bring to life the people and times of the year in which the children are stuck. I recommend these stories to others. Rachel Laurence's narration was great and she added to the story's entertainment. I was given a free copy of the audiobook and I have voluntarily left this review.

I learned history

The most interesting things were Women's Suffrage, the Society of Friends and slavery. I have a interest, in history, and those were all new to me. The Society of Friends had a positive impact on my Native American History, coming to support us on many levels.
