About this listen

Imagine yourself trapped in a dungeon. Now imagine you’re alone and unarmed. Awakening in a barren stone cell, he has no memory of his past. He is weaponless, defenseless, without spells, or even necessities such as food and water. Survival under such conditions would be difficult in any situation, but it’s nearly impossible when monsters and other threats lurk around every corner. No fighter, no cleric, no ranger, or druid to assist him. A lone man against the darkness. He must delve deep into the dungeon’s hostile depths if he has any hope of escape, but no one leaves the dungeon unchanged… Fantasy

The story is a bit slow at the start but quickly picks up speed as the it progresses. Many questions at the start are answered towards the end, which seems to be only the beginning of this story. I look fowards to listening to more.

Slow start, great story.

a well written story with a man just trying to survive, that swerve last minute onto the edge of a cliff and hangs you there, which would be a great beginning to a series.

perfect start to a series

It’s a good book to listen to while you’re working or exercising it has a nice fantasy dungeon appeal that I like in my books.

Better than I expected.

was not expecting him to become a ruler of this dungeon but I would have liked a another voice to help carry this story make a little more in depth

I love the twist at the end

Not bad. It would be a lot better with a human narrator instead of virtual voice

Starts out with your character having nothing and then you work your way through the dungeon. This game has all the usual dungeon suspects: rats, skeletons, giants, goblins, even a wraith and a death knight. The plot is really good and the ending was a twist that wrapped everything up. The story lends itself well to a sequel where the "hero" can get his revenge some day. The virtual voice AI did a good job but a human could have done the voices where they sound different. I guess I'm saying the book is incredibly well-written and if an actual narrator read this through it could be so much better. Top-notch story telling here.

Excellent dungeon diving story. Good plot and worth your time.

I would have enjoyed this audio if you had a voice actor who could modulate his voice when reading. The AI spoke in practically a monotone and ruined the experience, I couldn’t finish listening past the first couple of chapters.

AI voice speaks in monotone

Dislike book two isn't here, laughed when AI mispronounced Keyring. Good beginning to a series

ended up being decent 5 hour book

The story was nicely written. Keeping the audience anchored to the MC and world as they know it keeps the story engaging.

The story is evenly paved and engaging.
