Publisher's summary

K9 Officer Otto Gunnersen always had a soft spot for anyone in need. As Monroe's very own Dr. Doolittle, he dedicates himself to rehabilitating the injured souls that cross his path - but for all his big heart, he's never been in love.

Until he meets Sarah Clifton's haunted eyes. Until he realizes he'll do anything to save her.

All Sarah wants is to escape a life caught between ambitious crime families, but there's no outrunning her past. Her power-mad brother would hunt her to the ends of the Earth...but he'd never expect Sarah to fight back. With Otto and the whole of Monroe, Colorado, by her side, Sarah's finally ready to face whatever comes her way.

Great Story; Horrible Narration

As usual, the people living in Monroe are well-blended keeping the main characters front and center. I love the addition of puppies intermixed with the rescue dog and the retired dog. It was exciting for Otto to have his turn finding "his woman."

Spoiler alert.... what a shock about the police chief; didn't see that one coming.

Thanks Katie for another great follow-on in a series of cool puppy stories (with some love mixed in)!!

Please, the narration is horrific. Choppy, kinda makes you sea-sick. Let's get a new one please.

Best in series so far!

This is the best in the series so far, it brings together the stories from the last two books and allows us to get to know all the other characters and town's folk even better. It's better than the last two books because it's faster paced and gets to the action and interesting parts of the story earlier. Even though Sarah is initially terrified like Jules and Grace were, its not dwelt on an agonizingly repetitive way. Sarah is brave and makes some really difficult decisions when she needs to, she isn't just waiting to be saved by Otto. Instead of all the whiny woe-is-me internal dialogue that was in the first two books, Sarah's internal dialogue is more about her getting the fear under control, assessing the situation and making a plan. Also really liked that we got know all the animals, their different personalities, how they helped Sarah and how she courageously helped them.

Narration: Still terribly choppy and goes from loud to soft and back too often. I'm only still listening because now I'm invested in the little town and want to know what happens to the characters.

Heart Stopping Action

Fantastic book. For those who were looking for answers after book one, I suggest you keep reading this series. Each book is filled with romantic but unique characters, with enough sap, to make you smile and enough heart stopping action, that you might not have anymore nails. Cannot wait for all of these characters stories to be told. Love, love, love this series!

Volume control please

Too loud, too soft, too loud, too soft. Can’t get into the book because I’m too busy changing the volume. Like the authors books but I don’t like being screamed at.

Will they survive the night?

A group of cops some with k9 partners. A houseful of women who have escaped unbelievable lives to resettle with the help of someone in the dark. The cops may not know their stories but the women are strong, sexy and draw them like no others. Who can resist hot guys with dogs they love and use to protect others. Especially when they are desperately in need of protection.

Each man has a woman he's drawn to with a past she doesn't want to share. Otto is literally speechless when he meets Sarah. Eventually, the two find their words and each other. Otto has his own person rescue farm. His menagerie draws Sarah, the fact he is so tender and caring. She shows just how much when she must SURVIVE THE NIGHT.

This series is good. I was drawn by the k9 aspect and am in for the long run.

Great story w lots of action

This book is action packed from the get go! Mr. Espina is at it again...saving a young woman from the bad guys and relocating her to the tiny town of Monroe, CO. It’s time for our quiet giant of a cop, Otto, to meet his love match. Of course things don’t stay quiet for long. Hang on because, with helicopters, snow mobiles and lots of bad guys, we’re in for a wild ride!

Couldn’t put it down

I loved this one almost as much and Grace and Hughes book. I was engaged and on the edge of my seat the whole time. Definitely recommend this series.

Great Book

I love this series. It’s full of excitement, and danger. The volume is perfect, and the sex is so minimal, and very discrete. Good people who just want to live, and love. I love it when the narrator laughs. The narrator is excellent, and it’s so full of excitement, and emotion I’m sure you will love it.

I love this book

Katie Ruggle writes the best characters. She is so talented at developing strong, loyal, sexy and determined characters (male and female), who also have tones of flaws that just make them more interesting.
The storyline is amazingly ‘Die Hardish’ (if I can make up that word). Everyone hero’s and villains have multiple lives, are amazingly bulletproof and brave and somehow there is always something or someone that unexpectedly saves the day.
Somehow this all works due to the authors genius and I cant put the book down - I just want to keep listening.
This book is a true romance and I love that it gives the reader a chance to revisit previous characters that we want to know how their doing now.
Light easy listen
