About this listen

Desert Rescue

With his K-9's help, can he save the son he didn't know existed?

Rescuing a kidnapped child is part of the job for search-and-rescue K-9 handler Patrick Sanders—but this time it's his son. Now Patrick and his furry partner must work with his high school love, Jennie Wilcox, to shield the little boy he just learned about. But with someone targeting them, will Patrick and Jennie survive to face their painful past and become a family?

Trailing a Killer

A killer with an explosive agenda…and a K-9 and determined detective on the case.

In a hurricane's aftermath, Detective Erin Jeffries is stunned when she and her search-and-rescue K-9, Alcee, uncover a collapsed building's only survivor—her long-ago ex, Cody Elbourne. And it's quickly clear that the disaster was no accident. Now only Cody can identify the man who set the explosives that killed his grandfather…and Erin must stop the killer dead set on silencing him.

Mountain Survival

An injured victim has disappeared…can a park ranger and her K-9 find him?

When search-and-rescue park ranger Autumn Mercer and her K-9 partner, Sherlock, meet a stranger in the mountains whose brother is injured, they drop everything to help. But all they find where Derek Peterson last saw his sibling is a trail of blood—and men who want them dead. With gunmen closing in, can Autumn and Derek survive long enough to save his brother?

Pleasingly Predictable

These stories are entertaining and predictable. I appreciate the spiritual references, too. Life is so unpredictable and too often missing references to our heavenly father. it's refreshing to escape into a good wholesome story.

If you like sermons!

These stories are just so,so. The last was the best of the three. Having said that, the characters are not very developed and they feel more like sermons than I like. It was very difficult to be truly involved with the plots.

Search and Rescue K9’s

I always love a good K9 search and rescue story and overall I enjoyed these stories. However, the religious component particularly in Desert Rescue was way over the top and unnecessary in my opinion.

my opinion

Lots of twists and turns but by chapter two one pretty much knew how the stories would end. Really enjoyed the readers.

First two books great

I really enjoyed the first two books. But that last one was almost more than I could bear! I have never seen a professional make so many stupid decisions…when the bad stuff at the end happened all I could think was they got exactly what they deserved!

Disappointed

These stories are good but I was disappointed at the emphasis on romance. Other search and rescue dog books I’ve readhave given more credit to the dogs as being astute, tuned in, and loyal to their owners. All three of these dogs felt like pets who loved their owner but were not capable of being heroes like dogs in other books.

I do like the gentle hints that the “good guys” in the books believed in prayer and shared faith.

stories ok. box set needs to be categorized bttr

Desert Rescue - Jenny & Patrick: TRIGGERS: drugs, AWOL, parental alienation, assault, kidnapping. This book is a NO BURN!! So if your expecting some 🔥🔥🔥🔥 ... Go outside, this ain't it. 🤦🏾‍♀️🤣🤣🤣. I would've enjoyed the book more except there's a constant stop to pray moment within the story and it got really repetitive. I am a Christian and I'm down for prayers but it was like literally every paragraph. 🤦🏾‍♀️. The story is kinda if predictable but there's a little plot twist that you don't expect. It's not bad and it's fast paced. I just needed a little more romance and less prayer. I feel like there should be a category called "Christian Contemporary" and it shouldn't pull up when you search romance.

Trailing a Killer- TRIGGERS: explosives, hostage. This book was slow and dry. It was more like the killer was trailing them than them trailing a killer. I think it was cool to have the female lead as the detective but it felt like she spent more time just harboring feelings for her ex instead of looking proactively for the killer. The story is very bland.

Mountain Rescue- Derek & Autumn: TRIGGERS: gambling, assault, stalking. Yes this is another Christian romance but I have to say that it was more interesting than the previous two I've read. Derek and his brother are on a camping trip in the woods when his brother falls on a climb and breaks his leg. When Derek goes to find help, he runs into ranger Autumn and her search and rescue dog Sherlock. When they return to get his brother, there's no one there. All of a sudden they're running for their lives as men with guns are chasing them and Derek's brother is missing. No real romance but there's definitely a good plot twist.

Predictable as expected, but exactly what I wanted! Narrators each very good. Definitely recommend for an easy listen.
