Publisher's summary

An unthinkable act. A family in danger. Their next breath could be their last.

The Culpeppers are in Vegas for a vow renewal when missiles from a coordinated terrorist attack streak across the sky, delivering a deadly new chemical weapon that disperses wider and lasts longer than previous generations. It is death in a single breath, with bone-breaking seizures and brain damage from contact with just a drop of the gas. Separated from their family amid the chaos, Jake and Hannah must find their way to each other so they can locate their missing children and Hannah’s mother. No one is safe, and no one knows if they'll all survive Vegas.

This is a disaster thriller featuring chemical warfare and how such an event might unfold for the average family. There is some violence and a bit of swearing, but no sexual content.

Good story

I like the way the author went with this
The plot seems more realistic targeting humans with chemical warfare instead of nuking everything to smithereens
Good story and narration fans of disaster survival will enjoy this

Thriller

This book was full of excitement and adventure. Defiently not boaring. I thought it was written well. If this is what you like you will love it. It is not what I like I got it because of the narriater and enjoyed that part of it. Scott Bennett did a good job narraiting this book. I received a free copy of this book and that has no influence on my review. If my review is any help will you please click on the helpful link below. Thank you.

Excellent Story!

The fact that the premise of this story could actually happen makes this tale a frightening one. This is very well written and as usual, Mr. Bennett does a fantastic job of narrating.

Not quite Zombies

When the Culpepper family drive to Las Vegas they are not expecting missiles to be dropped with a poisonous gas. The family has separated doing their own thing in Vegas. They must find each other but where is Grandma? J Scott Bennett does an Excellent job narrating this book.

Post-apocolyptic tales

First, I have to start off by stating that I got this book free of charge in exchange for a review, but as I always state, this does not in any way impact my review. My reviews are always honest and my own.

Pretty realistic approach - though I rather doubt our government would react so quickly, have that great number of gas masks available, be gracious enough to pick military members who are unencumbered by family, or have a stockpile of medications not yet FDA approved. But, this IS fiction so I didn't see anything too over the top. The military actually acted how I WISH they would, so I liked that.

Entertaining read.

It was a well-written book with diverse characters who were plunged into a terrible situation that tested their ability to adapt and survive. If you think the subject matter is not your cup of tea, this book does have a feeling of a Lifetime or old 90’s disaster film with someone for everyone to empathize with.

interesting look at the apocalypse

This was an interesting book to listen to. It was not the usual story that involves a nuclear high atmosphere detonation (EMP) or a natural cataclysmic weather-related to terrorism. This book centered on probably the most likely thing to worry about a biological or chemical attack. It was an interesting twist as to the uncertainty who did it much less why.

The characters were quite believable. They went through the period of denial, uncertainty and then the what do we do now period I found it an exciting book to listen to and look forward to others in a series

The narrator did a good job of keeping you on the edge of your seat in building up the tension.

I was given this book by the author to review. The thoughts, impressions, and feelings are mine alone after listening to it twice

Great Survival Story!

The Culpepper family is in Vegas for a wedding vows renewal. While shopping the family notices people frantically rushing towards the exits. Then realize there have been chemical missiles launched with a deadly gas. They soon get split up and the book tells of how each goes about trying to survive. A story finally with good people helping each other out!

I liked the amount of detail in the book as it isn't overwhelming or boring with too much. I was thrilled to keep listening to this audiobook once I started just to see how it ended.

I received this book in exchange for an honest review.

Scary! Because it could happen!

We hear about the possibility of chemical warfare all of the time, and Surviving Vegas brings this possibility to life. Who would think that while on vacation this could/would happen? In this book, it did and Author T.K. Reilley lets us see how it effects just a few people in the area and the changes this causes in their lives. I listened to this book in 2 days because I couldn't put it down!
As I said, I listened to the audio book version of this book and J. Scott Bennett is a story teller! He brings the story to life. I feel all of the happiness, sadness, hurt, anger, etc, that the characters feel. He has great way of bringing the character's personality out in the cadence of their talk and their accents. I always look forward to Scott Bennett's work!
