About this listen

A riveting EMP box set with over 100+ 5 star reviews!

EMP Ranch

The thin thread holding the civilized world together has been severed.

A ranch on the outskirts of a city becomes the sanctuary for a family during the unfolding crisis of an EMP. The nation's power grid has failed. Hundreds of millions are left without basic utilities, and the enemy responsible for the EMP's detonation now wreaks havoc throughout the countryside.

The Last Orchard

Charlie Decker traveled to Seattle to acquire a much-needed loan for his family’s orchard. After a dozen requests, Charlie is forced to head home empty-handed. But his plans are derailed after an unexpected attack on the city renders all electronics useless. No cars. No phones. Everything about the modern world has been destroyed. And that’s when the chaos begins.

Maybe this is for preppers with unlimited money

In the first story, the farmer has an EMP-proof airplane in the barn along with an EMP-proof Hummer set up with half-track and a machine gun. Below that is a bunker lined with firearms of every description. He carries an inflatable boat with him wherever he goes, just in case he has to unexpectedly float down the river to save his stranded wife in the city. The wife carries morphine tablets in her purse in case she has to provide emergency care to a stranger and in her spare apartment in town they have a fully stocked emergency outfit including bullet proof vests and more weapons just waiting. Come on, who is this prepared?

One supposedly experienced former soldier goes into a questionable situation armed with a 357, a 9mm, a 380, and a .32? What kind of goofball would carry four different types of ammo? It goes to show the kind of sophomoric research that went into the writing of this book.

Then of course there are the bad guys who somehow landed North Korean enemy troops (routinely called "terrorists") and hid them in buildings everywhere without anybody noticing. And you have a bunch of "masked looters," who are mobilized within minutes of the EMP to terrorize everyone even further.

Nutty, half-baked story telling.

The narration in the second two books is better than in the first book, but the stories themselves have the same types of weaknesses.

not good

this is the only book review I have ever written. I found this book to be offensively sexist, and offensively racist. I am a fifty year old white guy who likes post apocalyptic fiction, the offended me.
