About this listen

I share a perfect kiss with a handsome stranger…only to find out that he’s my brother’s best friend.

New Orleans is an exciting new start for me. When I’m not in my lab working on my project, I’m determined to enjoy all the city has to offer. That’s how I ended up at a party hosted by the Fury Brothers.

That’s how I ended up kissing Reath Fury. Six-feet something of dark, handsome, and gorgeous.

When Reath finds out I’m the little sister of his best buddy from the military, he’s not happy.

But then I get attacked in my lab. Someone is after my project. Did I mention I have top-secret military funding? Turns out some very bad people plan to auction my work to the highest bidder.

Now Reath vows to keep me safe. The former CIA agent gives new meaning to the words overprotective and bossy. But spending every hour of the day together makes it impossible to keep our hands off each other.

We agree to keep it our little secret—all sex, no emotions allowed.

But the criminal after my project has a history with Reath, and he’s out for revenge. My brother’s best friend, the man who tells me he doesn’t do love, is the only one who can protect me.

And the only one who can break my heart.

The Fury Brothers: fierce, loyal, and live by their own code
Five men who grew up in foster care and became brothers by choice. They vow to always have each other’s back: no questions, no doubts, no hesitation. They protect their own…always.

Very nice

It’s a good next installment for this series. Entertaining and nicely narrated. The male narrators female voice is a bit cringe but it’s not a deal breaker for me. Happy reading!

The Fury brothers, danger, and mayhem…

Reath Fury’s best friend is Jack Parker. Jack has requested that Reath keep an eye out for his little sister, Francesca (Frankie) Parker, while she does some postgraduate research for DARPA at Tulane University. It’s a secret project that has the potential to benefit not only the soldiers in the military, but also potentially anyone with a medical condition. And someone else wants her research. When Reath thwarts a plan to kidnap Frankie, he realizes how much danger she is in, and vows to keep her safe. But Frankie is no pushover; she holds her own regularly when the bad folks come calling! Regardless, this book is peppered with the rest of the Fury brothers and their significant others, as well as with danger and mayhem.

The audiobook flows beautifully and is exciting! It’s obvious that Ms. Hackett has done her research on New Orleans, as many of the locales mentioned are very real. The pace is fast in this book, so strap in for a fun ride! The narration is well-done. Each of the narrators is able to maintain distinct voices for all of the characters involved in the story. I really enjoy hearing the deepest voice performed by the male narrator; it’s the voice of one of Reath’s informants, and it’s extra hawt!!

Exciting and HOT!

I love the Fury Brothers series! So glad the youngest of the bunch gets his HEA with such a smart and feisty woman.

Reath Fury...

Reath and Frankie...a brother's best friend is forbidden...or is he? Frankie is a smart woman with big plans in research, but little does she know when sparks fly with a stranger she is drawn to, that it will be her saving grace because danger is stalking her. That he is Reath Fury...her off limits brother's best friend...eh details. Of course, Reath anoints himself her fierce protector...and we all know passions are gonna burn, and a Fury brother is going to deny his heart is involved... But no fear, through the action, danger, and suspense love blooms. I really hope Anna gives us more of Frankie's brother in a future book too! Narration of course brought the characters to life.

Great characters!

I don’t know what it is about the fury brothers, but I just love them. Frankie is such a fantastic character and so open and sweet while being so totally devoted to her work. I love that she defends herself as well as having Reath as her alpha male protector. Having the other brothers involved in the storyline always helps. Can’t wait for the next book!

Very entertaining characters, story, performance

I love all the characters in this series. This book has the strong, loyal characters I enjoy, some great suspense and action scenes, and the happy ending I need. The performance is very entertaining!! (My only negative is I don't enjoy the steamy scenes and this book seems to have a lot of those, but I easily skip them.)

Found Family

I enjoyed the Fury Brothers series. The FMC, Frankie, works as a scientist in New Orleans through military funding. She gets caught in the crossover when enemies want her project. She reconnects with the MMC, Reath, and her brother's friend. With her project on the line and a personal vendetta out for Reath, these two work together to stop a mutual enemy and past trauma.

Okay

A good story. It has all the elements of the other stories in the series customized to these particular two individuals.

There was a big problem I had with Frankie, her experiments had the potential of very bad consequences both for our military as well as our enemies. Frankie didn't seem fazed by this even when it was pointed out to her.

This series is not one of my favorites. Each of these stories seems to be based on a woman in a dangerous position, being rescued, & sex. There is little characterization or more than a physical attraction between the couples. For me the stories are superficial with little depth. It is unlike Anna Hacketts other stories I've read.

The narration was good.
