Publisher's summary

The only man who can keep her safe is her boss’ gorgeous brother.

Museum curator Haven McKinney has sworn off men. All of them. Totally. She’s recently escaped a bad ex and started a new life for herself in San Francisco. She loves her job at the Hutton Museum, likes her new boss, and has made best friends with his feisty sister. Haven’s also desperately trying not to notice their brother: hotshot investigator Rhys Norcross. And she’s really trying not to notice his muscular body, sexy tattoos, and charming smile.

Nope, Rhys is off limits. But then Haven finds herself in the middle of a deadly situation....

Investigator Rhys Norcross is good at finding his targets. After leaving an elite military team, he thrives on his job at his brother’s security firm, Norcross Security. He’s had his eye on smart, sexy Haven for a while, but the pretty curator with her eyes full of secrets is proving far harder to chase down than he anticipated.

Luckily, Rhys never, ever gives up.

When thieves target the museum and steal a multi-million-dollar painting in a daring theft, Haven finds herself right in the middle of a deadly situation. With the painting gone and Haven in danger, Rhys vows to do whatever it takes to keep her safe, and Haven finds herself risking the one thing she was trying so hard to protect — her heart.

Note to listeners: This is a sexy, fast-paced romance with a heroine in danger who’s sworn off men (and gets kidnapped…a lot) and a hot, tattooed former military hero (who looks fine in a suit and rolls his sleeves up showing off his ink).

Tolerable Enough

The storyline was great, specifically the performance by the narrators. But Haven was annoying throughout the entire story. She has no preservation for herself, much less anybody else - gave the guys more work than they needed. Despite all the antics she carried on with, she made the story more tolerable at best, than enjoyable.

Rhys and Haven

Haven is trying to mind her own business when the museum she curates for is robbed of a near priceless painting. This sets Rhys Norcross into protective mode, even though Haven has done a great job of avoiding him.

I love how Haven is a strong, independent woman who allows Rhys to care for her and protect her but isn't going to sit idly by while the men do the work.

Great read.

Protector

Haven is a kick-ass girl that didn’t sit back and wallow in her misfortune. My kind of gal!

Reese is the ultimate protector. He vowed to keep Haven safe even when he didn’t think she reciprocated his feelings. Since he came from a close family he knew how to take care people.

I know the other books covering this family will be just as awesome!

Author and female narrator is great male narrator needs work

this is actually my second series of Anna hackett's I really enjoy her writing style. the female narrator is perfect as for the character but the male narrator sounds like he's trying to be the private investigator in one of thoses set in 1940s black and white films where they say gams instead of legs. no disrespect to him but I feel it's difficult to take the story seriously with his narration style. the story itself is good although I do find the main character to be a bit annoying at times but that really does give her more depth I think.

Ahhh, those hot Norcross brothers...

Haven has moved across the country, from Miami to San Francisco, to escape an abusive relationship. She loves her new job as the director of an upscale art gallery and her friends, the Norcross family. When the gallery is robbed by armed thieves, injuring Haven and the guards in the process, Investigator Rhys Norcross finally steps up to protect Haven and hunt down the men behind the theft. Did I mention that Haven’s boss is Rhys’s brother? This fast paced story has all that you need in a romantic suspense...bad guys, bombs, kidnapping and a playboy who has finally found THE ONE. Looking forward to more from the Norcross family.

Stolen art and finding love

This book is non stop adventure with lots of hot moments thrown in. Haven is determined to find the missing painting and her best friend's brother is determined to keep her safe. Haven and Reese have hot chemistry, Reese is smart and tough, Haven is a little ditsy when it comes to her safety so it causes lots of kidnapping and rescues but overall it's a good story and I enjoyed it.

Stella Bloom and Teddy Hamilton did a great job narrating this book. They were enjoyable to listen to.
