Before The Hazel Wood, there was Althea Proserpine's Tales from the Hinterland....

Journey into the Hinterland, a brutal and beautiful world where a young woman spends a night with Death, brides are wed to a mysterious house in the trees, and an enchantress is killed twice - and still lives.

Perfect for new listeners and dedicated fans alike.

dark & delicious

what a wonderful surprise! I enjoyed these dark, creepy tales so much. I'm not usually into short stories but I could not put this one down.

Does not disappoint

As someone who adored the dark modern fairy tales Albert created in her two Hazel Wood novels, I thoroughly enjoyed both the tales that were originally shared in the novels and the new stories that were only hinted at before. Rebecca Soler was the perfect narrator for these tales. I will continue buying Albert's books as long as she keeps writing them and will start following Soler's work as well.

Beautifully dark and deadly tales

I absolutely adored this book! I loved all the stories, those that were included in "The Hazel Wood," and those that were not.

I like a lot of her books...this wasn't very good.

I think the last story of the book was probably the best. I would skip this one.
