Welcome to horror happy hour....
Two greedy brothers receive a chilling surprise when they try to take advantage of a homeless man. Something in the backyard wrecks vengeance when burglars break into a family's secluded home. And poker night takes a different turn when one of the players fall victim to murder….
Have a seat, warm yourself by the fire, and enjoy a drink at Hannigan’s, the tavern of a thousand tales. This sinister collection presents 12 brand new bone-chilling tales, each one guaranteed to send a shiver down your spine.
But why stop with just one? When the sun goes down, the Hannigan’s happy hour begins. Two screams for the price of one. Or is it three? Maybe four?
For this ghoulish crowd, the thirst for fear is never-ending. And when it comes to shrieks of terror on this cold winter night, well, you know what they say.
The more, the merrier….

As I stated in a previous review, these tales remind me a lot of Tales from the Crypt. I am going to say that I was “delighted” on the definition of what a “true scream” is and what it isn’t. I found the process of defining it quite astute and used one of many descriptive sentences from Ian Fortey’s story.
While all the stories were good, the one that I found the most interesting was by Simon Cluett (author of Minotaur). It was about a poker game, a curse, and let’s just say a little American history during the Wild West that wasn’t exactly glamorized.
Book reviews of short stories, in my opinion, can be quite subjective. Each author has a different writing style, and while subject matter may have a general theme, the nature and mood can be radically different. So while I give this anthology a 5-star review across the board, others may not find the stories as compelling and rate them as high. I suggest listen to them with an open mind. These stories are meant to be engaging and in good fun.So try and keep the inner critic at bay and read for yourself. You will be glad you did.

These stories will keep you on the edge of your seat, and you will not want to read these in the dark! Fabulously done, and the narrator as always does a fantastic job.
