About this listen

There is no escape from death itself....

Ghost hunter Shane Ryan has cheated death countless times. But death has a funny way of collecting what it’s owed. And when James Moran asks Shane to retrieve a group of deadly spirits and their haunted items, the retired Marine finds himself wading into battle with supernatural evil once more.

Traveling to the estate of deceased media mogul Arthur Hempstead, Shane quickly discovers there is more to this case than meets the eye. Hempstead was more than just a collector of occult objects…. He died intent on drawing on power for his own nefarious ends.

But Shane quickly finds out Hempstead was not the only one eager to harness the power of death itself. And unless Shane Ryan can stop them, they’ll unleash an evil greater than any he has ever faced.

But first, he’ll have to survive a haunted house of horrors. And cheat death one more time…

Amazing!

This was amazing! Each chapter was eerily creepy.
I enjoyed every single chapter each one more compelling than the next. The story of each ghost and how they were put in one haunted house. This book had it all ghosts and betrayal and a cult. The narrator did a wonderful job. With all the characters just amazing!

This is an absolutely FABULOUS story...

Ron Ripley and Ian Fortey have been collaborating on these stories lately - all are great but I will say none have caused my heart rate to hit stroke levels in so long. This is a non-stop action story. I don't want to give any spoilers but if you've been reading for a while - you'll know who James Moran is...and what he does! When he asks a favor of Shane its never easy - and because James can't do it safely. This "favor" could easily end Shane. 7 to 1.... You'll love this story!

House of Evil

I love anything with interactive ghosts and Shane. Start of great new series his friend James Moran asks for his help to retrieve 7 haunted items from his recently purchase house of the late Arthur Hempstead. There are many ghosts and are violent but loved Goulash. Cannot wait for next to find out what he was seeing at the end ? demon and he and Moran stay safe.

WOW! Great Shane Ryan story!

I must say that I enjoy this collaboration of Ian Fortey and Ron Ripley!

This book sounds like Book 1 of a series. Very interesting plot of a mysterious cult that has a leader that either Shane can’t see or can remain invisible should he desire. A lot of interaction with ghosts in a real deal “haunted house”.

The authors have played around with character development of some of the ghosts with whom Shane interacts. I also note that James Moran seems a bit different in character than in previous appearances. A bit more dark and interesting as he is has been commissioned by a cult that has some strong interest in the spirits kept at the “haunted house”.

I truly enjoyed the performance of Thom Bowers as narrator. He improves with every new narration. I believe I mentioned in previous reviews that Thom Bowers is the voice for Ron Ripley’s books, if not for the other authors of Scare Street.

I am waiting with baited breath for the second installment Masters Ripley and Fortey!
