About this listen

The perfect man for me is the one who broke my heart. #thanksbutnothanks

Once bitten.

Twice shy.

Yeah, I wish.

I'm on a mission to find myself a nice, solid, respectable man. The only problem is nice, solid, and respectable comes in a meh package and is B-O-R-I-N-G as hell.

It's been established. I have one type. Bad Boy. I tried the other flavors, I really did. But there's nothing like the allure of a man who takes what he wants without apology.

As if my love life isn't dramatic enough, Dean Bennett walks into my life again thinking he's going to win me back with his charm and charisma. He might come in a different package, but under that expensive suit he's still the same cocky, arrogant, pompous prick who only cares about numero uno. I'm not that naïve young girl anymore so I have to ignore the fact that the way he looks at me practically sets my panties on fire.

Everyone deserves a second chance to right a wrong. The problem? He's not just an ex-boyfriend…

He's my ex-husband.

A great story made even better with the narration!

5 Crazy Ass Must Listen Stars!!!!!

Kylie Stewart was so perfectly cast for this narration. She was great in giving every character their own voice. She really made what was already a great story and made it even better by bring it to life.
I will not hesitate to purchase anything with her name attached to the narration.

Previous Review 5/2018:
5 Crazy Ass Must Read Stars!!!!!

Piper Rayne, the incredibly hilarious duo, has struck again. Afternoon Delight was funny, sexy, and had me swooning throughout. I was immediately intrigued especially after the bomb that was dropped at the end of Manic Monday. I just couldn't wait to get my hands on this book.
I love the dynamic that Chelsea and Dean brought to this series. I was already in love with their overall trope of divorcees with this series. What I didn't expect was the second chance romance of exes. In my vast index of read books, I've never come across one of this nature. And if I have, it obviously didn't stick with me the way this one has. Honestly, I wasn't sure how this would play out but P & R had me entertained right from the start. Now, I can't wait to see how Hannah and "the silver fox" situation plays out.

Love Chelsea and Dean!

Afternoon Delight is 5 stars of heat, pain, forgiveness, redemption, joy, and a ton of laughter! Just when I think there won’t be a book that will rival my favorite book of theirs, though I thoroughly love and enjoy all their books, Piper Rayne proves me wrong.

Chelsea is a woman that I’d have a blast hanging out with, whether we are at a bar or watching movies, or just chilling out. I adore her sarcasm and honesty. I felt her pain when she thought or spoke about her marriage and divorce. Her struggle was hard and I don’t blame her one bit for how she felt for Dean…before they reconnected. I rejoiced when she broke and opened her heart again.

Dean is a man that I admire. It takes serious strength and courage to do what he did in the interim between their divorce and their reconnection. It also takes serious gumption to admit fault and take responsibility. I absolutely adored his persistence with Chelsea. And everything he did? Swoon!!

Afternoon Delight is a book that reminded me that love can survive. There were moments where it brought those dreaded tears to my eyes, not just in commiseration, but in laughter. Piper Rayne never fail to make me snort and belly laugh, tear up, try to rub the ache out of my chest, and fan my face as I swoon. I cannot wait to see what else they come up with!

As for the performance, I'm feeling generous with the three-star rating as the last third of the performance was better than the first two. For most of the book, I felt that the narrator was making the book sound boring when it was anything but. This is my favorite Charity Case book and I'm a bit disappointed. However, the emotion coming through towards the end is what saved it. It was the punch of feeling that I was waiting for and that had been lacking since the beginning. I hope that if I were to listen to the narrator perform any more of Piper Rayne's books, she'd give what they deserve.

Second Chance at Love

Afternoon Delight is the second book in the Charity Case series. Piper Rayne just keeps the incredible books coming. This is a second chance story about Chelsea and Dean. They were young and newly married when Dean got hurt and lost his chance at a baseball career. He didn't take it well and drank a lot and ignored Chelsea. There were a lot of misunderstandings since they were young and didn't know how to handle everything. Forward five years and Dean is the pro bono tax attorney for RISE the company that Chelsea is now working for. Dean is now trying to show Chelsea that he's changed and is ready to try their relationship again. She's very wary of letting herself love him again. They have a real chemistry and that's not the problem. Chelsea has to learn to forgive Dean and believe that he's changed. Everything happens for a reason and at the right time. This is such a wonderful story and I listened to it in two days! I enjoyed seeing characters from previous series and knowing how they've progressed with their relationships.I enjoyed Kylie Stewart's narration of the book. She brought the characters to life for me.
