Publisher's summary

Alana Gore is in danger. A take-no-prisoners publicist, her way with people has made her more than a few enemies over the years; but a creepy stalker is an entirely different matter. She needs a bodyguard, and the only man she can ask is not only ridiculously hot but reputed to have a taste for women that goes beyond adventurous.

Chandler Gamble has one rule: Don't protect anyone you want to screw. But with Alana, he's caught between his job and his growing libido. On one hand, Alana needs his help. On the other, Chandler wants nothing more than to take the hot volcano of a woman in hand and make her writhe in pleasure until she's at his complete mercy.

She needs protection. He needs satisfaction. And the moment the line is crossed, all hell will break loose....

good story

Of the 3 - this was my favorite. Alana was well written and I liked that the bodyguard had to chase after her.
Alana found her vulnerability and when she normally is a VERY strong independent person.

Good story and glad I gave it a listen

The narrator was amazing

The story is great. The breathy voice Kaleo Griffith uses for the male characters was super sexy.

Hot book

I think I would have liked this book more years ago. I just feel like it was all sex all the time. Now, there are many many people that are looking for that so. This book is DEFINITELY for you. It just wasn’t for me.

Totally R Rated

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

Probably not. I prefer more plot with the sex.

What do you think your next listen will be?

Don't know at this point. My eyesight is failing so I listen a lot.

What three words best describe Kaleo Griffith’s voice?

An excellent narrator with a pleasant voice and just the right touch with reading. Probably the best thing about this audiobook.

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

Nope, I'd be embarrassed.

Alright finish to the series...

3 stars

This was an alright story. To be honest, I didn't know if I'd like this book because Alana (the heroine) was a real witch in the previous book, Tempting the Playerbut actually, she wasn't really an issue, Chandler was. Things progressed past this quickly but I think it was enough to cause me issues with getting completely engaged in the story.

Alana is a publicist that does whatever is needed in order to fix her client's issues. She is a ball buster but gets the job done and her clients typically end up better off after her involvement in their lives (even if they don't necessarily like her methods). Alana had a flighty mother who couldn't hold a job and constantly had ideas of men she "loved" (aka was obsessed with). Lana was raised by her grandmother because of her mother's lack of responsibility. Due to her mother's issues, Alana has been very careful to keep emotions out of her relationships, thinking she'd be lost down the same trap as her mother if she allows herself to fall in love.

Chandler is the oldest of 3 brothers. Their parents died and Chandler took on the parent role for his brothers. He ended up starting a security firm and likes his work. He hasn't done relationships in the past but has never met a woman that made him want more. Chandler is a sexual dominant and tends to frequent a sex club when he's in the mood for an encounter.

Alana has been getting bad letters for around a year and they were a little worrisome but not overly much. When she moved to Washington things seemed to settle down so she thought she was alright but then another letter arrived. When the latest letter indicated that she could expect a visit, Alan decides it's time to bring in someone for security. Her first thought, Chandler, the older brother of an ex-client that owns a security firm. She was attracted to him but had tried to put that out of her head after the last time they saw each other. When she can't find him at his office or at home, Alana decides to track him down to the sex club he frequents and catches him on the verge of a sexual encounter with another woman. The things she doesn't realize is that Chandler has been having problems forgetting her as well and his encounter isn't going too well because of his lack of interest in his partner and major interest in Alana. Now I thought this was a good start, that Chandler can't stop thinking about her and can't get it up with other women....but then he opened his mouth.

Alana realizes she stepped over the boundaries with intruding on him in a sex club and this becomes more obvious when he demonstrates that his mind is on one thing and one thing only. When Alana tells Chandler about her stalker and her fears he tells her he wont protect her because he'd rather screw her. He didn't even look at the letters, he just automatically dismissed her issue like it was nothing. Who cares that she might not stay alive long enough to screw her....oh no! Chandler doesn't care, he just behaves like an ultimate slime! A little later, Chandler gets evidence that the threat is real and he feels a bit like crap because of the way he treated Alana but I don't remember him even apologizing for how he treated her. Then he spends a few days dabbling about with her case but leaving her still in danger and with basically no protection. When he finally gets a clue that he needs to do more, Chandler moves her into his house for safety. When Chandler gets Alana under his roof he starts pressing her sexually and also starts feeling a bit possessive and protective. Alana tries to hold herself back but starts falling for Chandler pretty quickly. Chandler starts realizing there's more to Alana than he saw at first and pursues her. She doesn't think he's serious and tries to hold back but he is determined not to let her and they end things with the stalker taken care of and starting a HEA together.

This was an alright story. TBH, the only thing that probably saved the book was the fact that I had to stop the book at around 20% and restart it later and it allowed my extreme feeling of Chandler as a slime to fade before I continued the story. Without that pause I don't know if I'd have been able to finish this story (I was that disgusted with Chandler's actions/attitude in the beginning). This series is a good example of why not to buy the whole series when it's on sale. If I hadn't bought all 3 of these books before-hand, I really doubt I would have made it past the first book in the series (and reading books #2&3 didn't really change that opinion). I know many people like these books but overall I just wasn't feeling it.

* note - The narrator did a good job but it seemed too slow in places. I actually listened to the whole book at 1.25% speed and there were still some points where it felt like the narration was still slow.

Tempting the Bodyguard Audiobook Review

📚BOOK REVIEW📚
4/250
Tempting the Bodyguard by @jennifer_l_armentrout
The Gamble Brothers Series #3
⭐️⭐️⭐️💫/5
The Gamble Brothers series comes to an end with Chandler Gamble's story in this third book. Chandler is my favorite of the Gamble brothers and when deviant publicist Alana Gore approaches him in need of protection, he volunteers himself for the job. Someone is certainly out to get Ms. Gore and he is determined to find out who. Along the way, we reqlly get to know Alana and Chandler and i loved the humor worked into this story. This is a quick sexy read if you like a hot alpha male with instalove vibes and a bit of forced proximity.
