About this listen

The alien she's hot for seems to hate her. But when they touch, sparks fly. Will their growing love survive a dangerous quest?

Emma: I’m pretty sure Teran hates me. Why else would this scarred dragon warrior avoid touching me, talking to me, or being around me? Yet when we’re sent on a quest to find a long-lost cache of precious stones that could save the kingdom, I’ll be flying for weeks in his arms. I have to guard my heart. Otherwise, he’ll break it.

Teran: I am crazy about Emma, and I long to touch her, to bring about the Torrent—the ancient Driegon mating ritual. Our quest will throw us together, and it will be torture to hold myself back, but if I give in, I could endanger her life. But when rival factions attack, determined to keep us from finding the stones, I'll do whatever it takes to protect her.

Teran is Book four in the Brides of Driegon series. This standalone, full-length romance has instant heat, aliens who look and act alien, a guaranteed happily ever after, no cheating, and no cliffhanger.

Teddy makes it work

The storyline was so so but Teddy kept me listening with is almost melodic voice. It was much of the same storyline like many other books in this genre.

The Temple of Doom!

The following ratings are out of 5:
Romance: 💙💚❤️💜
Steam: 🔥🔥🔥
Story/Plot: 📕📗📘📙
World building: 🌏🌍🌏🌍
Character development: ☺️🤭😳😘
Narration: 🎙🎙🎙🎙🎙
Narration Type: Dual Narration

The heroine: Emma - after a mysterious illness wiped out most of the male population of Earth, the humans looked to the stars for love. Human women signed up to mate with different types of aliens throughout the universe. Emma decided to go to Krakar and went underground to meet the Driegon warriors. She was an archeologist and she liked Teran from the start.

The Hero: Teran - He only wanted to help his brother and save him from dying. The curse said that every second son of their family would die within a month of the torrent (which is what happens to the Driegon when they find their fated mates). His brother found his mate and the torrent had begun so time is short.

The Story: Emma was turned down by Teran but she couldn’t get him off her mind. Emma and Teran were trying to help his brother Rash who was cursed. They went on an expedition to find a cache of long-lost Zelina stones to fix a sacred staff. Once restored, the elder promised she could break the curse of the second son of their family.

I have to admit, I liked the Indiana Jones references and plot. They ended up in a Temple of Doom sort of place where they had to go through all kinds of dangerous tests in order to get to the stones they were seeking. I am not too fond of the Driegon’s tricocks, which come together into one large package when things get steamy. Just a bit weird for me and I kept picturing snakes.

This audiobook was told in dual points of view via dual narration. It was narrated by Tawnia Murray and Teddy Hamilton. Teddy Hamilton is one of my favorite male narrators, he has a deep sexy voice and always does a terrific job. Tawnia Murray also does a great job, her voice is clear and feminine with a bit of a scratchy quality which I like.
