About this listen

A deranged killer stalks Florida...a killer whose twisted sense of justice can only be slaked in rivers of blood....

Private Investigator Scott Jarvis is just settling back into some sense of routine after his harrowing adventure in Central America. With Lisa back at his side, Jarvis’ world once again seems right and whole...and this assumption is about to be ripped to shreds!

It starts with a bomb in a police detective’s car and a cryptic note claiming responsibility but only signed with the mysterious name “Shade”. Shade continues to target specific individuals, and it soon becomes clear that they all have one thing in common...Scott Jarvis. As the tension mounts and the stakes rise ever higher, this enigmatic vigilante is soon revealed to be a bloodthirsty lunatic to whom life is cheap and rage fuels a burning desire for retribution.

When a deadly bombing hits too close to home, Scott and Lisa must fit the pieces of the puzzle together and discover Shade’s true identity before the body count smothers them as well. It’s a contest of wills in which there’s no second place!

Mortal danger erupts in this fast-paced, mind-bending battle of wits. Can Jarvis stop a madman before his world and everything he loves is torn apart?

OMG, Stop the Madness!

Eight books in a row, not including 7 USS Bull Shark books. I don’t know how you mortal readers that found Scott early waited for him to write the next book. This one was a real who done it, that played with your emotions. As always an amazing tale told by Scott and Lisa. It was good to see her back where she belonged. As SWC does from time to time, he planted a seed in Scott’s timeline that has the promise to jet off on entirely new and different adventures. Again, Dave Alexander did 4.0 job bringing SWC’s book to life. I really pity those that don’t listen to the audible version. Well folks, I’m off to listen to the next.

Fun as hell read

This time Jarvis is Indiana Jones and Mission impossible put in a Yahtzee cup. Out rolls a host of new characters and old favorites to give you a full house. Keep'm coming Scott W. Cook.

Fun and Exciting

Exciting adventure with great twists. Can’t wait for book 9. Also didn’t need to read prequel books to understand. Narrator Dave Alexander does a pronominal job. Searching for more works he has narrated.

Jarvis' world just gets bigger and better!

What a ride... it took some getting used to the new narrator - loved Lee - but Dave has stepped in and hits it out of the park. He really brings Jarvis and friends to life and adds a lot of personality to a world already full of it!

Like so many of Scotty J's adventures, this one takes off and barrels down the road. Some old friends come back and some crazy twists lead to an exciting story and nail-biting ending. If you love action/adventure/crime/thrillers with a lot of humor mixed in then grab this one. The Florida scenery and locations make for a vivid backdrop for a fun story.

Scary good!

This story is so good! And the scary thing is it could be a true story! Scott does a great job capturing the lunacy in our world with this story. We need more people like Jarvis and Lisa in it, that’s for sure!

Another great Scott Jarvis adventure

Lots of twists and turns with ample excitement from an extremely articulate author. Sadly, Jarvis is a fictional character as the world could really use a few actual people like him.
