Can a modern-day hero defeat addiction?
Some people are born with seemingly limitless talent, be it in their intellectual capacities, athletic prowess, artistic abilities, or personal aplomb. Roland Hazzard is one of those rare individuals. Nothing should stand in his way.
Yet he suffers from one glaring deficiency—he can’t control and enjoy alcohol. His addiction threatens to destroy the promise of his many gifts.
Now fate throws Roland an opportunity that could change everything. A notorious serial killer is stalking a woman in his building and breaks into Roland’s apartment by mistake. Wow! Just Wow!!
This book speaks at the importance of refraining from the vice that stands in your way to excellence.
St. John of Kronstadt would take to the streets in the morning where all the drunks were passed out. He would hold them in his lap and tell them that they were living beneath the dignity that God had created for them.
This book does well to create an image that without self-control and a respectful desire to live up to your calling, you will not achieve that which you were created for.

A Wild Ride with Deep Struggles
This book was a rollercoaster! Roland is a character you can’t look away from—talented, reckless, and spiraling in his addiction, yet somehow you still root for him. The mix of action, dark humor, and real struggles with alcoholism made it such a compelling read. The whole vigilante fame aspect adds an extra layer of chaos that keeps things moving fast. Great listen, definitely recommend!!!
I just finished this book, and wow—what a ride! The story of Roland Hazzard hooked me right from the start. The author does an incredible job of blending action, suspense, and deep character development. Roland is such a complex character—gifted and charismatic, yet deeply flawed by his addiction. The twist with the serial killer and Roland’s rise to fame felt fresh and unpredictable, keeping me on edge the whole time. I also appreciated how the book didn’t shy away from exploring the darker side of fame and personal struggle. Overall, it’s a thought-provoking, fast-paced read that’s hard to put down. Highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys thrillers with a psychological edge!

Phenomenal is an understatent - a must listen!!!!
I am beyond impressed. I've been on the edge of my seat from the beginning and am surprised at how amazing this story is and how much I LOVE it!! I can't recommend it enough. The narration is amazing and done by the author themself. Humor, wit, and more goodness embedded in this thriller if that's what you call it. It sure kept me in suspense, wanting more and to know what happens around the corner. Just start listening! Don't think about it, just do it!
